We stayed at Monravon overnight before catching the early ferry to Ireland. It's quite close to the ferry port which suited us but has a limited space for car parking on the premises - two at most - otherwise there is on-street parking directly outside. The Monravon is a very clean and welcoming bed and breakfast and, for the price, suited us and with continental breakfast at 07.00 (cooked breakfast at £4 extra per person which we wouldn't have had time to eat) was ideal. The room was very clean and comfortable with Freeview lcd tv and both double bed and single, The bathroom was clean and tidy with a walk-in shower with wall mounted shower gel and soap dispensers which was a nice touch if you were traveling very light. Self-serve tea and coffee were available in the guest lounge downstairs but not in the room which proved a little awkward as my wife has difficulty walking and going up and down two or three flights of stairs for a cup of tea did put her off. However, I made use of it and it was cosy watching the large screen lcd tv in comfort. But it would still have been nice to have the usual facilities in the room instead. Breakfast was a good selection of cereal, toast, cheeses and meats but as time was short we only had the cereal and toast with tea accompanied with a chat with the friendly owner. As I said, we would have preferred tea/coffee making facilities in the room, but this is a good bed and breakfast which is reasonably priced and handy for the ferry.

Room Tip: If you have difficulty climbing stairs try to get a ground floor room otherwise making a cup of tea can be a chore.

We stayed here after being kindly directed from the Boathouse by the marina which was full. We were 4, myself, wife and two boys. Very friendly owners. Very clean, quiet and comfortable. Great breakfast included. Highly recommended. Wills family, Columbia Missouri USA.

Stopped for one night due to early ferry departure. Extremely helpful owner. very clean room and en-suite, comfortable bed. Does what a good b&b should. Full english was an extra £4 and well worth it. Will stay again.

Excellent place to stay while waiting for the ferry. Hostess was fantastic: friendly, helpful, good advice, called taxi for us. There is a computer in the guest TV lounge for guests to use for FREE! Very clean and quiet place. Definitely recommend.

Have stayed here a few times now, the main reason being the owners are very accommodating about very late check-in and very early check-out times. Not the most elegant of places, nor do you always have toiletries available in your room. Continental breakfast is good and generous but if you want a cooked breakfast this needs to be ordered the day before and is extra. The last time I stayed, the room was also quite cold.

If you are looking for an inexpensive, very basic accommodation then this place might be just about OK.

Room Tip: Call if you are arriving very late.
