An action packed and fun filled adventure - not for the nervous! Good value as we had 4 goes, each becoming increasingly difficult

Spent a day here, spent some time in one of the hides which was situated near the gift shop and tea room, never seen so many birds, it was wonderful. The views from the terrace of the hotel which overlooks the lake were fantastic.Great place for walking especially if you have a dog, the walk up to the waterfall was well worth it

This place is a political disaster. Liverpool was running out of water in the early 1950s and took an Act to build a colossal reservoir in Cwm Tryweryn, drowning the local village. As soon as it was completed, many large firms in Liverpool which used huge amounts of water closed down, so the reservoir has not been properly used since. It drops in times of extreme drought, but otherwise it is almost always full.
The lake is large and moderately scenic. The controlled flow of the rive downhill makes for a constant flow in the river whatever the season. It is used for white-water rafting, fishing and such things, but given its background, I cannot bring myself to use them. 'Cofia Tryweryn' - 'remember Tryweryn,' as the locals say.
