Kevin and Lynn have strived hard over the last 13 years, to make this the most perfect Country House Hotel to match and exceed the quality of those in the local surroundings. We have been coming here year after year, because you get the warmest welcome, its perfect setting, excellent food, immaculate rooms and most importantly for us is that its dog friendly. In a way, I'm reluctant to write such a good review: because we want to secure our room for next year also. You have to book early (very good sign) to avoid disappointment, as they are constantly busy. The perfect place to stay in Beddgelert!!

Room Tip: All the rooms are good size and each room is bright, but room 17 is our favourite (Doh!)

What a beautiful place to stay. Beddgelert is a favorite place of ours in Wales but we have never stayed in accommodation until now. This hotel is worthy of a 5* rating. It is ideally situated, in a peaceful valley. It is spotless clean and the breakfast is wonderful. I would like to commend the staff on their friendliness, they were so polite and courteous, nothing was too much trouble. One young lady in particular, I believe her name was Rennie, was wonderful. She was the most polite person I have ever met, with perfect manners, friendly personality and was always glad to help. We will most definitely be staying here again and will be recommending to family and friends. Another bonus was it is a 'dog friendly' hotel, and whilst we didn't have a dog with us, it was nice to see other families with their dogs sat outside on the patio enjoying food and drinks. Well done Bryn Eglwys!!

We stayed for one night at this lovely hotel . The rooms were of a high standard and tastefully decorated with everything you need. Breakfast was very nice served by friendly staff. We had a fantastic view and its just a short walk away from the the quaint village.

We were made to feel welcome from the outset but unfortunately, we were there for one night only. The bedrooms were bright and very clean, and the bathroom was of a very high standard. We decided to dine in house and our food was most enjoyable, and served by friendly and efficient staff. During the afternoon, we visited the village and found the local inns to be a warm and welcoming experience. Many thanks to all for making our stay so pleasant, especially the Bryn Eglwys Hotel.

The hotel sits in the most exquisite locale. The town itself sits in a valley of sorts, surrounded by mountains. On one side of the hotel is an open field area giving the hotel a spectacular view of the far off mountain and the town itself. Aside from the view, the owner and staff of the hotel were exceptional. Like most all people I've found in the UK, they were very kind and courteous with a smile always on their face. The rooms were very nice and very well kept. There's a good number of beautiful scenic walk ways, not far distance for the hotel.

Bryn Eglwys (Welsh for Church Hill, or is it Hill Church?) is a small family-run hotel in a fabulous landscape. A good departure point for the discovery of Snowdonia and Northern Wales.
Next to that, the restaurant offers home-cooked evening meals and a copious traditional breakfast.
For a visit and exploration of the surroundings we advise to be motorized, although public transport is avalible (including the famous Welsh Highland Railway).
The welcome and service was very friendly, the rooms well furnished and the bathroom spacious and comfortable. There is no airco (good old windows that open for air!), so we had the wonderful countryside air and the pacifying murmur of the nearby river.
A very adviseable hotel for nature enthousiasts.

Room Tip: all rooms are well situated but on the first floor accessible with a stair (not that easy for disabl...

The old adage “no place like home” would be my best description of this charming country house hotel. I could not have wished for a more perfect setting to meet up with my two daughters for a father/daughter bonding session which generally involved walking all day and drinking all night. On arrival, our initial check-in was quick and informative. Our days started with a hearty breakfast at 9-30am, which was far too late in the day for anyone visiting this part of wales to do some serious hill walking. On our return each day, we would hit the bar which was stocked with a surprising wide variety of drinks considering Bryn Eglwys is not a pub. This would be followed by a very hot bath before returning to the dining room for what could only be described as a gourmet extravagance, accompanied by some excellent waiter/ waitress service. Following dinner, another visit to the bar for a night-cap and an exchange of old service anecdotes with the bar man a former helicopter pilot in the junior service. For someone who has lived most of my professional life in hotels and experienced the good, the bad and the ugly, I will certainly return to Bryn Eglwys and have no hesitation in providing both my personal and professional recommendation. On a closing note, the proprietors (Lyn & Kevin) were always on-hand but not overbearing and the main point that struck me most was it felt like home for the 5 days period we were resident. For this lasting impression, the proprietors must take full credit.
