We spent an amazingly comfortable , restful and enjoyable week at this delightful quiet country hotel which is nevertheless within very short walking distance of the lovely village of Beddgelert and its two rivers with delightful riverside walks ! All the staff and the proprietors Kevin and and Lyn are extremely helpful and able to adapt to individual needs . A very comfy and well appointed en suite bedroom with magnificent views .Gorgeous views from the pleasant dining room too and excellent food with an interesting and varied menu to cater for all tastes - in my case first class vegetarian and also fish dishes - and great puddings ! My husband greatly enjoyed the meat dishes and tasty home made soup ! No down stairs bedrooms unfortunately for the disabled but we did manage the short flighr of stairs. Nevertheless we will definitely return to this hotel next time we take a break !

We stayed in this beautiful hotel last week. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and the staff are extremely efficient. The food is delicious, beautifully presented and the portions are very generous. I was very impressed with the toast at breakfast, it was warm and thick unlike some hotels where it is often cold and tough. What more can I say? We have often stayed in 4* hotels and the service/accommodation here is equal, if not better! The hotel is a short walk to the village, with a Post Office which stocks most things you would need when on holiday.
The hotel is ideally placed for walkers, those who like to visit the coast, National Trust properties or gardens.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 9, beautiful views from our window towards the river. There is a lovely riverside...

Stayed for a long weekend in Mid July 2014 with the aim of walking up Snowdon so location at foot of the mountain was key influencer.

Hotel is small and independently run so very pleasantly surprised that they could supply gluten free breakfasts, pack lunches and evening meals. I normally have to supply my own provisions as larger chains seem unable to quote. From chatting with the manager they can also cope with other food allergies.

The pack lunches included tasty generously filled sandwiches and much appreciated mid walk.

Rooms were clean, tidy and adequately provisioned. Room and hotel furnishings were more homely than chic but very comfortable. Whole hotel was well maintained.

Staff were polite and very helpful and always available to help.

Evening meals are available at additional cost. These were similarly very good quality. Dining room was a little quiet for my tastes but more due to the more elderly clientèle at the time we stayed. Hotel location was 5 minutes walk from Beddgelert so the option of eating out is always available.

Usually stay elsewhere in Snowdonia but will definitely try to book in here first next time.

This was our second visit to Bryn Eglwys. Once again it didn't disappoint. Kevin (the owner) and his staff make every effort to make you feel at home. The food is excellent. We opted for a superior room which had lovely views out of the window looking down the valley. Everything is kept clean and spotless. All the basic needs were catered for, nice comfy bed, complimentary toiletries. There are many walks on the doorstep, ranging from easy to quite difficult. The Welsh Highland Railway stops in the village - a must for steam enthusiasts! This really is a little gem of a find and a hotel I would recommend without hesitation.

We read reviews but haven't felt moved enough to make one until now. Our expectations were high, having read previous reviews, but the experience bettered our hopes. Bryn Eglwys is a gem, its location is fantastic, the rooms are well appointed, with great views, comfortable and the hot water is hot and plentiful. The staff are attentive, pleasant and reflect the owners ethos for exceptional service. Despite being a smaller hotel the bar and cellar are extremely well stocked. The lounge is very comfortable and the restaurant is spacious. Top of the list has to be the food which is exceptional and what a joy to get a proper breakfast, freshly cooked and not a buffet in sight!

Room Tip: Any room will be good!

Both staff and owners of Bryn Eglwys Hotel were exceptionally welcoming and friendly. Went to great length's to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Great location for long beautiful walks but short wall into the village.

We stayed in there cottage a short walk from the Hotel which was idyllic, spotless, great for us as a couple or for a family (pacifically loved the bath).

Each morning we had breakfast at the Hotel, which had plenty of choice, food was cooked very well with stunning views to gaze at while eating. The owners even personally made an effort to greet us each morning at breakfast, which was a great personal touch.

Would defiantly recommend "Bryn Eglwys Hotel" to anyone wanting a break away and will defiantly be returning hopefully soon.

Were looking for a place to stay for a couple of nights at short notice and plumped for this after some friends recommended Beddgelert as a lovely village - they were right - and this is a fantastic base from which to explore it and the surrounding countryside. The welcome was warm and friendly, the room was comfortable and spotlessly clean, the food was all freshly prepared and delicious - Lyn was quite happy to prepare something that wasn't even on that night's menu if you asked - and the serving staff a delight. It harked back to the 'golden age' of country house hotels but had all mod cons including the wi-fi which I found OK from my room (we were warned it was a bit variable) .
All in all, a great place to stay - I'd definitely recommend it.
