We have stayed here three times now and have never been disappointed. The views are amazing and the hotel is protected by the mountains. Our room was clean and cosy with spotless white linen and towels .Ruth is a very friendly hostess and an excellent cook using local products...... home cooking at its best! The only drawback is the approach up a very narrow road where you hope that you do not meet another vehicle.

Room Tip: We chose room 11 with a wonderful view

We stayed for 2nights and 3 days. Our room faced the front of the house and it was very neat and comfortable. Surroundings were very quiet and peaceful.

The best part of our stay was the dinner. Excellent home cooked food and good selection for vegetarians. The breakfast was also good but it was served only for an hour. Found this a little strange. There were quite a lot of orders to be taken in 1 hour and felt that the staff were struggling a bit to keep up with the orders. We had to wait for about 30 minutes to get our breakfast served on the second day.

There is no TV, wifi or mobile signal in the rooms - perhaps the best way to stay disconnected for the world and enjoy a nice break. However, the WIFI reception at the lounge is pretty good.

The approach to this place is a very narrow winding road; good for just 1 car. This is not a problem as long as you leave in the morning and return by 4-5 pm. So best not to venture out after dark and get stuck if there is incoming traffic. We almost had a problem one day.

Overall, would definitely recommend this place!

A fantastically warm and cosy hotel with amazing food and warm friendly staff. I thoroughly recommend staying here. Ideally placed for touring Snowdonia and North Wales, set nestled on a mountainside accessed down a very narrow, stone wall edged lane which is not for the faint hearted. Excellent - thank you

Room Tip: I would suggest paying the extra for a delux or superior room and definitely worth staying in for di...

Remote is the best way to describe the location of Sygun Fawr.

However, this should in no way put you off from experiencing one of the friendliest, peaceful stays I've had on my travels. A very informal greeting, I had a choice of rooms. I opted for a front room with a view of the mountains.

I opted to eat at the hotel and wasn't disappointed, same can be said of the breakfast, very fresh and made with local produce.

I was a little perplexed at having no TV or mobile signal, there is wifi from the hotel and to be honest it was nice to have a quiet night.

I will definitely use the hotel again and recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Eat at the hotel.

My fifth trip to Sygun Fawr and once again it was as good as ever. The location is quiet with sweet mountain air and panoramic views of snow covered summits. I slept soundly in a deliciously comfortable bed. The food was excellent and well executed. Mostly though we go back because we are made to feel at home and very well looked after.

My husband and I stayed at Sygun Fawr this week for 3 nights, our second stay at the house. Its location makes it perfect for getting into the mountains on the West side of Snowdon with many excellent ways up into the peaks from Croesor and Rhyd Ddu, both with 15 minutes drive.

The rooms are well fitted out, have plenty of space and are very comfortable. Its position away from the village means that it is very quiet at night. The dinning area is homely and when we went in summer 2011 we really enjoyed eating in the conservatory. There are plenty of good guides to the area and to places to visit in North Wales.

The food is excellent and, where possible, locally sourced. You can tell that the meat is delivered from a local butcher! The lamb shank is the best we have ever had and the cooked breakfasts really set you up for the day. There is a good selection of wines and they stock a Purple Moose beers from a local brewery. We will definitely be returning again!

Room Tip: Ask for room 11 for particularly amazing views!
