“Efficient service even though busy.”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

We called in here at the end of our walk over the hills from Pen-y-Pass. We were ready for some refreshment and noticed although busy there were a couple of tables free in the garden area. We were only sat down a few minutes before a waitress came over and take our order.

Although I ordered double eggs and chips with peas it didn't take long before they were brought freshly cooked from the kitchen. This was enjoyed along with a pot of tea and was most welcome after the walk.

The garden and the main entrance are a bit apart, the garden entrance is a few yards past the public toilets as you walk into the village. The main entrance to the inside seated area is near the road bridge. You can't move between the inside of the café and the garden area as the kitchen is between them. Note that the garden area does have some tables under cover if the weather turns inclement (as it did with us).

“A let down after promising so much”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

We were attracted by the quality of the menu but sadly it didn't deliver. The food was only average. Low points were a beef burger with no fillings whatsoever and a tomato pasta sauce tasting of Dolmio.

“Use the rear entrance!”
Reviewed 1 August 2014

This is a popular eatery with a varied menu overlooking the river in Beddgelert. It gets busy at meal times and if you just want a snack or a cake and cup of tea, go to the rear entrance in the quiet side street. There are a few peaceful tables outside. The front area can get quite noisy. Nice fresh cakes although my pot of tea tasted rather ordinary.(poor quality tea bags?) However if you have walked over the mountain from Pont Glasglyn and returning via the beautiful Aberglaslyn pass you will not mind.

“A pot-luck choice turned out ok”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

It was a very warm evening and when we looked inside there was nobody dining and no staff visible. So we joined everyone else in the separate outside area. The food, service, and value were all fine and in line with the menu prices. My companion's fish pie did not actually have any pie crust in it.

“Excellent food and fab location. ”
Reviewed 20 July 2014 via mobile

Visited this cafe as we had just finished our walk along the river.

Sat down immediately and was served within a matter on minutes which was good as it gave us time to view the menu.

Very reasonable prices and very dog friendly.

Polite friendly staff and fab location right next to the river.
