Very welcoming, especially as we booked online at short notice. Lovely room and bathroom, including hot water bottles and tasty flapjack! Not to mention a selection of DVDs and books to borrow (TV plays DVDs). Very homely place to stay and would definitely recommend, especially as it's so central.

Room Tip: We chose room 12 which faces the road, not noisy at all, has a fantastic view, especially in the bat...

We were very close to all the other B&Bs and restaurants along the main road in town. We loved this quaint little town, close to hiking, biking and beautiful scenery. The Fairhaven was smallish, but our top level room (room 12) was very clean and quaint. Room 12 is smaller than other rooms, but we got it for only £60 per night with breakfast. Included breakfast is continental (toast, jam, tea, cereal and milk) though you can pay more for other options like French toast, egg dishes, etc. The weather helped us on our day hike to Lake Elsi above the town.

We stayed at The Fairhaven for one night and it was very nice. Simon showed us around, but didn't over do it. The room was very nice (room 12) and the village itself is nice to wander around. We would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Room 12 was on the top floor overlooking the river. It is next to the road, but you can't hear i...

This was a dissapointing stay at this old tired B&B. The entrance hall is drab and dismal. . Although the rooms are clean, the day was cold and our room was at the back of the building and the central heating was not turned on to accomodate this. Our pillows were old and flat, we had two pillows each each but it made no difference. Shampoos and toiletries are not supplied and the towels are old and mismatched. Everyday a form is placed in reception to be completed as to what you want for breakfast the following day. There is no parking available at the B & B, but there is free parking up the road. We only saw the owner at breakfast when serving. Although the website states that they do take credit cards, when I presented mine for payment,I was informed that there would be a 3% charge to cover the cost, so they would prefer me to use my debit card! Personally, I honestly did not enjoy my stay here and would not return.

Stayed there for 4 days and really enjoyed it. First 2 days were in room 8 which we had been informed was small before booking (which was all a bit last minute so we were thankful of it). It was nice enough. Simon informed us that a larger room was coming available on the 3rd day and we asked to move rooms. Simon moved all our bags for us which was great.
Second room (room 6) was fantastic. Tasteful decor and loads of space. Having read some of the other reviews i feel that i should mention that our radiator was on and our room was more than warm enough. I actually turned it down. We had a choice of 6 breakfasts. My girlfriend sampled 4 different ones over the 4 days and all of them were top notch. I had the welsh fried breakfast every day as it was so good. I really can't fault this place. We were given space (which is something i like in B&B's) but knew that if we wanted anything then we only had to ask. We parked just outside the B&B as it was out of season (and you are allowed to park on the street then). We ate 2 nights at the stables which served good food quickly and more importantly great real ale. A good base for climbing the mountains in Snowdonia.

Stayed 2 nights in room 6- nicely decorated with lots of space & comfy double bed. ;-)
B&B is on main Holyhead road so bit noisy during day with traffic(room at front) but much quieter later on, even with window open.
Lovely freshly cooked breakfast with lots different choices ( full Welsh breakfast/eggs benedict/pancakes etc).
No parking at b&b but road round church is free parking 24/7 & only couple mins walk.
Betws y Coed is lovely little town with few nice craft shops and good base for exploring North Wales.

Will definitely be staying at The Fairhaven next time we visit ;-)

We only spent there one night and had to move out following a very cold night. As one of the other reviewers pointed out, they only turn on heating at certain times of day and only for a short period. Top floor seems to be worst affected. The owners offered an array of small heating devices (some quite noisy), but that's not the service I'm expecting for £80/day. It's false economy to try to save on guests' comfort (or rather necessity) hoping that nobody will complain. Overall, avoid Fairhaven at all cost, no point wasting time thinking about how to get a reasonably warm sleep instead of planning next day's walk in Snowdonia's beautiful mountains.
