Celebrated friends 40th birthday at the vagabond, had fantastic time. Great welcome from the staff. Evening meal and breakfast really good and plenty of it. The place is very clean and comfy. Great atmosphere in the bar, Mark is a brilliant host. Will be visiting the vagabond again....

Wonderful place to stay.
The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was lovely, and the accommodation was clean, secure and comfortable.
I had a great time at the Vagabond and met some fascinating people.
It's a great base to visit the local beauty spots. I went to the Fairy Glen and to the Swallow Falls, both beautiful places, but it would also be a good place for those looking for more adventurous trips.
The town is small but interesting, and has everything you might need. The two churches are both beautiful in their different ways, and the little suspension bridge was a great surprise.
Thank you to everyone at the Vagabond.

Before this review gets removed again, i'd just like to point out that I did actually stay here on Saturday the 6th of April.

A group of us were biking in Wales for the weekend and needed somewhere to stay over. The Vagabond seemed to tick the boxes, main one being we needed secure bike storage. When I rang to book it was confirmed that they had secure bike storage, a secure outbuilding, however the alarm is not working. Ok we thought, at least its a secure lock up.

First problem when we got there was that the secure outbuilding was in fact a wooden shed with the smallest padlock you've ever seen and turns out the alarm was a fake one.

Call me boring, but when i'm staying somewhere for a night, I don't want to be kept awake by middle aged people acting like teenagers when there parents are away for the night. There was no consideration at all for others in the hostel, they were "partying" all night long. Two of our group even went to sleep in their cars as it was that noisy.

Lastly, at least we'll have a good breakfast we thought. Cheap sausages, boiled mushrooms, spoonful of beans and at least an egg. What an absolute waste of £23.
Also to note, the food for the guests breakfasts is kept in a public area, bacon was left on top of the fridge. In the partying, some guests were even playing with the food out of the fridge.

To add, there are no plug sockets in the rooms, although there is free wifi!!!

If you want to live it up whilst the kids are away, go here, if not look elsewhere.

To top it all off, the owner didn't want to know about any gripes, he'd had his money (as you have to pay beforehand, that should have set alarm bells ringing..) and wasn't bothered.

It's rather sad and somewhat disturbing that a person should take such pleasure in trying to tarnish our reputation for a quality bunkhouse at an affordable price. This person has had two reviews/rants removed by Trip Advisor because of its insulting and abusive nature.

His third review has now fallen within their guidelines. However, this review is inaccurate, contradictory and false. I can only apologize to the guests that evening for his drunken behaviour and to the staff in the morning for his foul mouthed torrid of abuse.

Well where do I start? From the friendly welcome, nothing is too much trouble for guests at this bunkhouse. It has everything you need: warm comfortable rooms with clean linen, hot showers, more food than you can eat (and it was really tasty), a drying room for your wet hiking gear, a good bar and dining room and friendly staff who really want you to enjoy your stay.

I stayed there with my two children and it is definately a place for families as well as groups and couples.

It is a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Betws y Coed and is well located for all of the Snowdonia mountain ranges.

We are already planning a return trip!

Thanks Mark and Kelly for a great week.
