Stayed here for a walking weekend with brothers. Superb B & B with excellent hosts John & Eileen for whom nothing was too much trouble. Numerous walks from the doorstep & the car never left the car park ! Very enjoyable sitting outside, as dusk fell, with a glass of wine or beer chatting to other guests.
Highly recommended & we hope to return

We booked 3 rooms here for a family celebration recently. Eileen, one of the owners baked a great cake for my wife Louise's 50th birthday and she presented the cake and Champagne perfectly just after our arrival. Our family had a wonderful time here and we can also recommend the restaurant at a nearby Hotel called Craig y Dderwen which has a stunning location overlooking the River Conway.

Betwys y Coed is surrounded by beautiful countryside and we enjoyed climbing the 3000ft Tryfan nearby which is challenging but v.rewarding.( Its not a long slog like Snowden). There's also mountain biking and plenty of scenic walks.

Tan Dinas is clean and comfortable and John and Eilleen run a tight ship which we can thoroughly recommend

Absolutely wonderful Bed & Breakfast! Eileen is down to earth, hospitable, approachable, unpretentious, informative, welcoming, kind, smily & chatty! Like so many great partnerships in the B & B world, John is the illusive one like a shadow yet no doubt a very integral, important & unsung other half, so i sing your praises + John cooks a mean breakfast too Wow! A wonderfully solid & beautiful victorian house which will be your home with 1st class views over the valleys opposite, infact no other house on the road has better views! A place which could probably charge more as lesser B & B's do but why hey?! Moneys not everthing and it could mean us like minded folk may not enjoy and appreciate such wonderful accomodation, hosts & breakfasts. As for Betws y coed, great base for exploring the area and very beautiful with it probably none better! however we found the village on a food & drink front, the very opposite to our fantastic hosts. The food in all the local restaurants except the local Chippy and a few cafe breakfast lunch type places, to be vastly pretentious in its pricing of food & therefore very geared up to tourism in a bad way, it was like you were mere £ signs in their eyes. However i can refreshingly say with one exception the local chinese restaurant forget its name sadly possibly something Dragon, nice atmosphere, genuine smiles and care, priced as all other chinese restaurants in UK and food much better than most! A very pleasant warm happy evening out experience which actually cost less than all the other evenings out despite the fact we ate far more and only wished Tan Dinas was down hill from the restaurant!! To round it up it would be impossible to stay anywhere better even if your budget was £150 a night, honestly its a fact and a promise from us to you!

Staying at Tan Dinas has become a personal absolute requirement for any travel to Snowdonia. On arrival you will be greeted by amazing hosts who make you feel as though you are being invited into their home as a personal friend. John does an amazing breakfast and it will be well worth your while to ask Eileen about what to do with your time around Snowdonia.

The house is situated against the side of a hill offering beautiful views of the valley, just far enough out of the town to give you that country silence that guarantee a good night's sleep and yet it is still only a 5 minute walk from the scenic town of Betws-y-Coed.

You will start your day with a stunning view of the local landscape from your breakfast table not to be detracted from by a picture perfect Welsh breakfast. Leaving the front door you have a range of local trails to choose from leading you to amazing hidden forest secrets or you can simply stroll down to Betws-y-Coed for dinner at one of the local pubs or the local Welsh Bistro, a treat not to be missed.

For the avid hiker Tan Dinas offers easy access to all of the main hiking trails in Snowdonia National Park or for the more leisurely traveller Tan Dinas is ideally situated in the middle of a range of tourist attractions.

For this traveller the experience made such an impact that I found myself back at Tan Dinas 2 weeks after my initial visit for an unplanned weekend trip that again simply exceeded all expectations.

If you have to go out of your way in order to stay at this amazing B&B then do be assured that it will be well worth your while.

I stayed with my husband and daughter and with our relatives from Spain at Tan Dinas in late April for one night. It was our second visit so we knew what to expect. As always Eileen and her husband were welcoming and helpful from the moment we try to reserve the rooms, as we were not sure about the exact dates we wanted the rooms for (volcanic ashcloud preventing our relatives from flying into the UK). The house and the location are great, and the rooms have been recently renovated and are spotless. I particulary loved the modern bathroom, brilliant shower!
We all really enjoyed the high quality breakfast, which was plentyful and delicious.
Other reviews talk about how helpful Eileen is, offering lots of information on the area and things to do and see. I totally agree with them.
I will come back for sure in the near future. Thanks Eileen!

Eileen and John are really great people with lots of knowledge of where to go and what to do and nothing is too much trouble. We had a great outlook over the wonderful countryside around and fascinated by the different birds you could spot at the birdfeeder whilst enjoying our own delicious breakfast (lots of choice). It was our second stay there in 2 years and will definitely go back again as it is so central for the all the amenities and attractions in surrounding areas (too much to fit in 4 days, even on a second visit). By the way, the sun shone all the time, which was fabulous for April!
