“Great lunch - but please do something about that music!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 May 2014

We were drawn into the Bistro for lunch by the menu, and the food did not disappoint. I had the warm duck, bacon and new potato salad which was delicious and a generous portion. The service was very good and very friendly and I thought the menu was very reasonably priced. The only criticism was the appalling CD playing throughout lunch. We were told it was "traditional" Welsh music, but traditionally, we Welsh can actually sing in tune! The droning folk laments from the male singer had us ready to open a vein, and the female singer was the vocal equivalent of Les Dawson's piano playing. We were laughing so hard we could barely eat our food. It really did take away from the friendly relaxed ambience of the restaurant. Definitely worth a visit for the food, but take some ear plugs!

“Belting Bistro”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 May 2014

My family and I had dinner at the Bistro last Saturday. There were ten of us and we were all made to feel very welcome and, even though the place was busy, the service was exceptional. Checked on whether we were happy/satisfied with everything and always with a smile. High quality food, with a lovely varied choice and the wines too all providing great value for money.

“Tasty food attentive waitress”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 May 2014 via mobile

Popped in here for elevenses as not impressed with ambiance of first cafe we found after parking car and we were very happy that we did. I had the bara brith and a coffee and it was delicious. The waitress was really really friendly and informative and helpful. Across the road is a pretty stream. Arrived in town via scenic route from Abergele which was stunning and left via Conwy also a pretty drive.

“Great Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 May 2014 via mobile

This was my first visit to the bistro and it was my first time to Betws U Coed. The food was just wonderful. I had the wood pidgeon to start and this was cooked purfectly and so was the main.
This was recommended by Bev who we stayed with at the B&B Bod Gwynedd.
Just one thing that let it down no draft larger or beer, this isn't that much of a bad point but I had to put one so you can see I was telling the good and the bad.
The service was very good and the waitresses were very attentive. I would recommend a visit to a wonderful bistro and a wonderful village.

“Probably the best in town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2014

Excellent meals at easonable prices, friendly service.
Do not forget to make a reservation: it is a very popular place and you will be disappointed not finding a free table.
Try the lamb shank, simply delicious.
