After looking at the usual hotels in Betws-y-Coed, my girlfriend and I decided they simply didn't offer enough for the sum of money which they were asking for.
As we were on our second drive round, my girlfriend spotted this innocent looking B&B; and we decided to check it out.
I knew by her face after she came back outside, after the owner kindly let her preview the room, that this was somewhere special.
The room was huge and felt very luxurious. It comprised of a bedroom area with a large bed, a separate living room area with a comfortable sofa and TV, a dining room area with a fully stocked fridge for breakfast, and a luxury bathroom with large shower and lovely sink area.
There was no offer of a cooked breakfast, however there was a wide selection of cereals, bread, eggs, cheese, ham, fruit, juice and muffins available instead.

Overall, a hugely impressive offering that sets the standard for all other B&B;'s. Thanks Bill!
Jeremy & Fleur.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Luxury Suite, there was also an apartment however we didn't see this so can't comment on it.

Visited Bewt-y-Coed few times. Always stayed in "stables" (hotel in the center of the village), this time it was fully booked, so me and my patner asked the room in first available B&B. And we were lucky. For the same price as we usually paid we got really nice suite, finished in a very high standart. We stayed only one night, but everything was perfect, fantastic breacfast, I couldn't do better by myself. Next time we'll stay only in The Acorns.

Accommodation at The Acorns is a bed and breakfast suite, which means it is a very large room (in reality, two rooms knocked through) with a bedroom area, TV and sofa area and separate dining area. There is a also a very modern en suite bathroom.

The decor and furnishings were very comfortable, relaxing and spacious.

Other than arrival and departure you don't really get to see the owners as a buffet breakfast is left for you in the fridge in your room. Don't be put off by this. The breakfast was lovely and very plentiful - you won't go hungry. Cereal, fruit juice, muffins or local Bara Brith loaf, toast (a toaster is in the room), cereal bar, tomatoes, ham, cheese, yogurts, fruit etc.

The location is very central for the picturesque town of Betws y Coed - situated set back from the main road - and for exploring Snowdonia. The view is pleasant though not tremendously exciting - beyond the road to fields and distant hills.

Eating options in Betws Y Coed are a little limited, so would recommend the short drive to the Old Ship Inn in Trefriw instead.

All in all a fantastic place to get away from it all, and very relaxing to come back to after a long day in the mountains!
