We had a lovely warm welcome, (after a bit of an eventful journey to betws y coed), our room was beautiful, warm & cosy. Huw & Emma know so much about the area and are very helpful with ideas of places to go to and the best way to get there. It was lovely to have the feeling of being in a family home and we had many great conversations with Huw. Breakfast was lovely. There was lots of choice and the food is all from the local area. Milk & biscuits so we can have a tea/coffee after being out on a walk all day, was really nice. Thankyou Huw & Emma, we had a great 5 days in betws.

Just returned from 2 nights in this very warm and welcoming b&b, having been up a very snowy cold snowdon we arrived to a lovely welcome from Huw and Emma and shown to our room after a nice chat about the area. The hosts are both very knowledgable about the area and are always willing to offer any info on walks etc. We were even given a map from Huw of a walk that he drew from memory, which was exact and a lovely walk around the lake at the top of betws y coed! Our room was very cosy and had fresh milk and biscuits everyday for when we returned from our walks. We have nothing bad to say about this b&b and we will return back. The breakfasts were lovely. Full English and or cereal/yogurts, fresh juice lovely!! Thank you Huw and Emma for a lovely break away!!

This was my second stay in the Grove House in Betws-y-Coed. I made a point of returning again explicitly because of the warm welcome, the superb guidance and the friendliness of the hosts, Huw and Emma. If you are looking for a Laura Ashley-style B&B perhaps this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for a true Welsh experience, hosted by a world-traveled and knowledgeable couple, then look no further. I was back in September of 2010 bringing along one of my parents with me. Huw and Emma couldn’t have been more helpful, gracious and accommodating. They went out of their way to ensure that all our needs were met. Huw, in particular, has a breadth of knowledge about the surrounding area and he’ll provide a wealth of guidance for you in order to make your journeys throughout North Wales and Snowdonia a more enjoyable experience. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were warm, even on chilly Welsh nights. Yes, the en suites may be a bit small, but it is an old house and it’s hard to retrofit these fine stone houses with sizable washrooms, so count on that as being part of the charm. The hearty breakfasts were fabulous, cooked to perfection and served in the front room where Huw and Emma display a unique collection of pieces from their world travels. I’m very glad that I found a room there the first time I visited Betws-y-Coed. The second time, however, I found a very warm and genuine Welsh “welcome back.” I'm a very well traveled airline pilot and for me to make a second visit to a bed and breakfast on the other side of the ocean, it has to have a special appeal. The Grove House certainly does for me!

Spent three nights in this guest house which is looking weary and in urgent need of paint on both outside and inside. In particular the grubby paint on inside of windows was flaking and there was dirt in the corners.
The room itself was dusty. The washbasin was grubby and was not cleaned during our stay. Towels changed daily but one set only suitable for a floorcloth.
Breakfasts were good as was the welcome.

Room Tip: Ask if rooms clean now.

This lovely bed and breakfast is the perfect place to stay if you want to explore Snowdonia National Park, since the bus stop is only a 3-minute-walk away. The very kind hosts did not only provide our first really tasty Welsh breakfast, but they also gave us great advice on walks and activities in Snowdonia. The Grove House itself is lovely as well and the rooms were nice and tidy. All in all, we had a great time in Betws-y-Coed!!

Another great stay at this family run B&B. The hosts (Huw & Emma) are charming and nothing is ever too much trouble. The rooms are clean and tidy and the beds are comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities are also available - just what we need after a long walk in the mountains. The breakfasts are excellent (try the full english) and the location is perfect for exploring Snowdonia National Park (Huw has an encyclopedic knowledge of the area and has recommended some fabulous road and mountain bike routes). We have stayed at Grove House several times and we will definitely be going back - we love it!

I have stayed here before when the price was just below £60 and for that I thought the place was great. But a price increase must be met with improvements and that is not the case.
The breakfast is the selling point and is absolutely great quality. You can also choose the time you eat so don't feel sandwiched into a slot. The hosts are fantastic and very welcoming. I have not experienced a lack of cleanliness talked of in other reviews. The beds are comfy although the one in the back room was too soft for me on the first stay and so when I returned I opted for a front room where the bed was firmer.
It was true that when I arrived the room was cold. But the heating was put on soon after and was warm in about half an hour.

The main downside of this place are the bathrooms. They have no heating and therefore are cold and are absolutely tiny. Water pressure in the showers in low and a tall/large person wold have trouble showering in the confined space. If relaxing and pampering yourself in a bathroom is your thing then don't stop here. If you are happy for a quick, no fuss shower then it will be fine. Larger bath towels would be an improvement although there is nothing wrong with the ones provided.
The other downside of this place is a lack of a guest lounge. This could be remedied if the hosts were to include a sofa and arm chair in the room where you eat breakfast. And cranking the heating up in that room would make it a cosier and more welcoming place to sit and read.

I really hope the hosts read this, because with a few upgrades this place could be fantastic
