We stayed for 1 night and after walking up Snowdon we were really chuffed to get back to The Dragon. The welcome was great and they had a choice of 4 bottled real ales, just what the doctor ordered! Check in was easy and we thought the rooms were great value - no frills but clean and comfy. We had booked for dinner and it was delicious - I had the Sechzuan Chicken and rice for about £14 and it was more than I could eat. Pete the owner was the best thing about the place and it was a real pleasure to meet him. Will definitely be staying there next time we visit Snowdon

The Dragon doesn't feature highly on Trip Advisor and I'm not sure why. Yes the motel style rooms are basic and the walls are thin (take ear plugs if you are a light sleeper, it is next to the busy A5 after all) but they are very clean and tidy and all you need for a restful sleep; the beds are exceedingly comfortable! The staff can't do much about the style of accommodation but they bend over backwards to make your stay as relaxing as possible and breakfast is very good, expertly cooked and served by the 'running' host who does it all. Perfectly set us up (with endless toast) for my daughter and her uncle to enjoy a day in the mountains. We didn't eat at the restaurant because it was full, a good sign. A nice lounge though to end the night in with a cup of tea and a ear-wig at the staff booking their holidays with the owners; but heh ho, not bad at all, customer service excellent!

Can't comment on the Hotel as we didn't stay. We did however discover this place by chance and stopped to eat. We hadn't booked but the hosts were friendly and the food and service were superb. We were too lazy to read the menu so just ordered the banquet mmmmmm too full.

Ended up in Betws-y-Coed on the last night of our uk road trip. Really fancied a chinese when we saw this resturant . Couldnt believe our luck when we saw it did b and b as well. We had a lovely motel type room next to the resturant. The owners were very hospitable, after booking in we came down for dinner at eight . Food was lovely. In the morning we came down to a full english and poached eggs on toast , cereal and toast and jam . It was a great way to finish off our uk holiday.Would deffinatley go there again .

Room Tip: Motel type room , all were facing the river brilliant

Fantastic hotel with friendly service. They couldn't do anymore for us. The owner asked if we would be up in time for breakfast, as we were climbing snowdon the following morning we said we would be up too early for breakfast. So he gave us all a beer on the house. We plan to climb snowdon again and will stay here. It's also very clean. And a great location for climbing snowdon.

25 of us ate here as the culmination of our 21st birthday weekend celebrations

We ate in the back room so that the rest of the restaurant could enjoy their meal out of our way!

We organised a set menu to make it easier for the kitchen, at £23/head, consisting of:

Chicken and Sweetcorn / Hot and Sour Soup
Mixed Appetisers (ribs, prawn toast, spring roll, wan ton, seaweed)
Duck
6 Main courses
Rice

Food was all excellent, hot and very tasty, and the service to such a large group was exemplary.

The two waitresses were polite and friendly and the boss man was ever present making sure everything was ok.

Have eaten here before on business, but the way they coped with such a large group was fantastic.

The Dragon Chinese restaurant lies on the northern edge of Betws Y Coed and is very busy and popular. We did not stay in the Hotel/B&B. It’s in need of re-decoration and a bit of a face-lift but don’t let that put you off. The food is good, we can recommend the mixed starter for two, and the staff are friendly.
