“Great place to stay, everything you need for a break and welcolming”
Reviewed 13 November 2012 for a stay in October 2012

The cottage laid back off a quite road and was in a lovely setting with the view of hills surrounding us. On our first day we sat in the garden and had our tea and coffee to get our holiday off to a good start. The cottage was lovely and very clean, with two good sized bedrooms with on suites. The living area was spacious with a good sized kitchen/diner.
We were a party of two couples and had plenty of our own space if we needed it.

There were plenty of local walks from the doorstep with local amenities. The local people were friendly especially Helen and family who made us feel very welcome.

Everything about this cottage and area was brilliant, there is no least about it and we will be returning in the future.

“A lovely, homely cottage”
Reviewed 4 November 2012 for a stay in August 2012

We stayed here with our three young children in August. It was the perfect place to stay, a very well appointed cottage, lovely decor throughout. We loved the decking at the back of the house, especially when the sun was shining - which it did for at least some of the time! Its perfectly situated to visit the surrounding area and the village shop was very well stocked. We will definitely return.

“Cozy Cottage in an Ideal Location”

On this occasion I was traveling with my husband, my brother-in-law, and his partner. We all enjoyed our stay at Y Neaudd Lwyd. Due to working schedules, we had to arrive after 7pm. The owners were very understanding of this and accommodating. Helen was kind enough to light a fire in the wood-burning stove for us to warm the cottage and because we were arriving lateish, she left a nice letter on the kitchen side answering any questions we may have had about staying in the cottage (ie - recycling procedures, where to get more firewood, etc.)
The cottage itself was very cozy with a perfect amount of space for four adults. There was nothing lacking in any of the rooms and the kitchen was well-kitted out for cooking some warm hearty meals after long wet days of hiking in Snowdonia! The bed in our room was extremely comfortable and both my husband and I loved the heavy duvet during the cold autumn nights. We also enjoyed making friends with the owner's ginger cat, Max :)
The location is ideal, it is close enough to tour Snowdonia and surrounding towns, however it is a very small village and feels out of the way. There are takeaways less than 10 minutes away (for when you're just too cold and wet to consider cooking!) there are a few large Tesco's less than half-hour away (to stock up the kitchen upon arrival) and there is a corner store just up the street that has pretty much anything you might need to replenish during your stay.
What we liked best: The size and coziness of this cottage + the fireplace
What we liked least: Showers only, no bathtubs (not a huge issue, just the only one that sticks out in my mind).

“Great Period Cottage- comfortable and well equipped”

Over the years I have booked several holiday cottages, I can only state that this has been the best one so far. The Grade ll listed cottage with it's solid wooden doors was presented to a very high standard. On arrival there was a tray complete with Tea and coffee a very nice thought after a journey of over 200 miles. Although the cottage is Grade ll listed the interior had been decorated very tastefully and had every modern appliance. Situated in the pretty village of Dolwyddelan, the view from the cottage was enchanting, looking out at the surrounding mountains, should you be lucky with the weather as we were, sitting out on the Patio was the icing on the cake, We would certainly book the cottage again.

“Great stay, ideal location. Couldnt ask for more!”

We were very pleased with the cottage, there was adequate room in our bedroom for our 3 year old's ready bed that we had brought along and our newborns travel cot (which was provided by the owners). It provided an excellent base for different places that we wanted to visit and was not far from Betws y coed, which was one of the highlights of our holiday. Everything we needed was available including dishwasher, ironing board and washing machine. Owners (who live next door) came by to see if we had settled in okay and if we needed anything and then we were left to our devices for the rest of the week but was good to know that they were close by if we wanted any help. Thank you for a lovely stay!

“Absolutely brilliant...”
Reviewed 1 April 2012 for a stay in March 2012

We always stay in cottages when we go off on our walking holidays, and I must say that this was probably the best one we've stayed in - and in such a lovely setting and quiet village. The cottage has everything that anyone could want, and it was great after a day out to be able to chill out on the leather sofa's in front of the wood-burner. As the weather was great we also took advantage of soaking up the sun on the large decked area in the garden, with lovely views to the hills.

The cottage had everything else, en-suites to both bedrooms, lovely dining kitchen, comfortable beds with loads of wardrobe space - a real home from home. Plus the bonus of being able to get a wireless signal to keep in touch with the outside world - ok not top of everyone's list but important to many in today's world. If I had to be really picky (and again just personal preference) I would have liked a decent size flat-screen TV for those cosy nights in - but again I know to many TV is not really top of their list of needs or wants.

Overall a great holiday, great walking, great weather - we will be coming back.

“Perfect cottage for 2 couples, brilliant location, everything you could want.”
Reviewed 27 February 2012 for a stay in February 2012

We came away for the half term holiday. The cottage was better than it looks in the photos, has lots of character. Brilliant location for spar (to get wood and basics) a stones throw from the pub. We went on walks from the cottage which were really nice and some more challenging walks like Snowden after about a 30 minutes drive.
This cottage is ideal for 2 couples, no arguing over rooms because they are both nice, en suites are identical too.
We really enjoyed using the wood burner, it was easy to get going and adds to the experience. There's loads of information in the cottage about days out.
If you want to go to Portmeirion, which is a nice day out and good if you want a gentle walk, make sure you print off the winter voucher before you leave for your holiday, then you can get in for £1 instead of £9.
I would happily come back here every year, it is amazing value for money.
