“Amazing beauty spot on the River Conwy”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 January 2008

Fairy Glen is a secluded gorge and beauty spot on the Conwy River.

It's just off the A470, near the intersection with the A5 - there is a small car park nearby - turn left just after the Fairy Glen Hotel (but not into the hotel car park!), and it's reached down a small track. You then have to walk for about 15 minutes to get to Fairy Glen itself.

There is a small admission fee of 50p per person to cover maintenance of the footpaths.

After around 10 minutes on the footpath, the glen is reached by descending some stairs. Be warned that they are steep in places (and slippy in the wet), and therefore not suitable for everyone - good hiking boots are recommended. We visited on New Years Eve and only saw 2 other people there, which added to the experience.

The view is amazing and you can get some great photos and videos here. It's well worth a visit.

“What a Waste”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 April 2004

Having visited this location recently all i can say is WHAT A WASTE OF ADMISSION FEE!!!!!

The surrounding area is far more scenic AND FREE.

Don't waste your time as there is nothing to see that you won't see elsewhere.

“really nice place!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 April 2003

came back yesterday (27.04.03) from a hotel called the fairy glen hotel, i reccomend it.. really friendly people who made us feel very welcome, we had a very nice, spacious and well kept room and very nice food also! was very impressed as you can probably tell.. went for a walk around the fairy glen which was just behind the hotel, the rain held off for us and we even had the odd bit of sun which reflected off the river and shone through the trees for some very nice veiws and photo's! all in all an extremely enjoyable weekend with some amazing veiws! also visited snowdon mountain which was a very scenic 20 min drive away (very enjoyable) unfortunately there was gales and bad rain so the train which would cost £18 only cost £12 because it only went half way up the mountain, we got off at the stop for 10 mins and sure enough it was very windy, cold and wet, veiws were a little restricted and the 45minute each way train journey was a little cramped and couldnt really see alot, probably would be worth the money on a sunny day although i did think it was a little overpriced! did go for a walk around the electric mountain and the lakes nearby which were very very nice.....Nick N
