A pretty friendly place to camp. They have electric hook up. But if want to save £3 they have a microwave, toaster, washing/dryer machine, fridge, freezer for your use.. and they'll charge phones etc in the house. Located with-in a short drive to Betws-Y-Coed and some other local towns where you can get food at spa/londis/co-op. Also some takeaways in local towns, ask them the best places when there. Pubs and hotels near by and a good base for exploring many activities and attractions or just chill at the campsite with a bat and ball.
Snowdon not far away. We went up Snondow, a must really. We parked the car at Betws-Y-Coed in a free side street, then caught the sherpa bus to pen-y-pass base, this only cost £1, so we saved on the £10 parking fee there. The buses run hourly and takes 20mins to get there. My 14yr old son and me did Pyg Pass in 3hrs up.. 2 1/2 down, a good route we thought.
We recommend this scenic friendly campsite, we had a great time and met some nice people.
Oh and my son enjoyed playing pool in the evenings.

A friendly, quiet and well-equipped campsite with staff that are endlessly helpful and trusting. 4 of us stayed for 2 nights and we're definitely going back!

The showers (10p for 2 mins) are clean, hot and spacious and only get busy in the mornings.

The pitches are generally level and they offer hook-ups for those who want some home comforts, you can choose where you pitch and even move the picnic benches (if you're us!).

They also have a Yurt and 'Shepard's Hut' which both have a double bed and are more luxurious - they look great!

It's easy to get to if you follow the instructions on their website and it's always quiet - apart from the odd RAF sortie at 10am. The owners (Carol and Gareth) were SO helpful when we needed a few more tent pegs and an extension for the hook-up, and even went to get fresh eggs (just laid) when requested.

The prices are fair and they don't ask you to pay until the night before you leave! The site is located in Snowdonia and is surrounded by walks, forests and waterfalls.

We can't wait to go back.

Camped here for the first time with friends who are regular visitors. The location of the camp site is perfect to visit the surrounding area. The site is beautiful with views towards the valleys and mountains. Carol and Gareth are very friendly and helpful and they keep the site in excellent condition. We would certainly return to this site

Me, my boyfriend and our beagle Luther stayed in the Yurt for a long weekend. What an amazing weekend. The yurt was so cozy, warm and romantic and much bigger then I expected. Loved sitting next to the fire having a drink and relaxing. A beautiful view to wake up to and have breakfast. Its positioned in a nice secluded part of the campsite next to a stream. Was lovely listening to the stream while drifting off to sleep. Brilliant value for money. Was very sad to leave and counting down the days till our next visit. :))))

We've stayed here a several times over the past few years and we have always had an amazing experience. The toilet facilities are always immaculate and the campsite rules are fair but strict meaning that you won't have people playing music or shouting so you can relax in peace and quiet and enjoy a BBQ or a nice walk. Carol is always very friendly and helpful. The rates are reasonable and the views are OUTSTANDING. Lots of lovely walks to do and Betws-y-Coed is only a short walk away. Dogs are allowed on the site, as long as they are kept on a lead and you clean up after them. Only two motorbikes allowed together at a time which is fair. The river is nearby so that's quite a nice sound to hear as you're drifting off to sleep. There are sheep and chickens on the campsite too which children find very entertaining! Highly recommended. We're staying in the Yurt on the site soon and can't wait!

Room Tip: You can either pitch a tent or caravan or stay in the site's caravan, yurt or shepherd's hut...

Me and my boyfriend stayed at this campsite recently in the shepherds hut and were already dying to go back. We had a perfect stay! This site is set in a beautiful location with amazing views. The hut just has everything you need from a gas hob and all cooking utensils to a pull out bed and a lovely log burner that keeps you so warm at night (and we had snow when we went). We only had to take food, sleeping bags and toiletries. There is a sliding door at the very front of the hut so we had that closed at night and had the inside door open so we could cook our stew and the log burner kept it lovely and toastie in the kitchen area. You have your own picnic table outside and also 2 fold out chairs and a BBQ you can use which would be perfect for the summer! this hut is so relaxing and clean and the area couldnt be more peaceful, its the perfect getaway! Will definately be going back!!

Two couples stayed here during early April 2013. We could not fault this site.

We were given a choice of where to pitch our tent and opted for the upper field. We arrived on a Sunday so some other campers were leaving that day so we ended up sharing the field with one other tent for our three night stay. There is also a lower field which I suppose may be more shielded from the wind but our outlook from the upper field was spectacular.

The ground is undulating in places but we easily found a flat spot with electric hook-up. The site was peaceful - the A5 is close by and you can hear the occasional motorbike but this wasn't a problem. The only other noises to be heard were the babbling of the nearby stream, the hungry sheep and the morning birds.

Campfires are not allowed and there is a no-music policy. Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a lead. The owners two delightful collies roam free and are very friendly (they do not foul the fields).

There is a small toilet block close to the owner's house (one for each sex) and a larger block just a very short walk nestled between the upper and lower field. The facilities were spotless and included showers, washing up facilities, fridge freezer, washing machine/dryer and a pool table! The showers are 10p for 2 minutes and the owners provide change. Two showers for males and two showers for females were ample at this time of year but might yield a queue during busier periods?

The site itself can be found near Conwy Falls directly off the A5. Take a sharp right about 3 miles before Betws y Coed and follow the hill for about 200 metres and you will find the gate to the site.

There are some nice walks from the site and we followed a route to Capel Garmon and had a look at the church. The pub in Capel Garmon is closed now.

The closest pub to the site is the Silver Fountain which is just a little further up the A5 and is walkable. We didn't go there though!
It costs £1 to see the Conwy Falls and there is a nice off-road walk to Betws-y-Coed that takes in a Fairy Glen.
Betws-y-Coed is well catered for tourists and there are several pleasant walks from here too.
We actually walked back from Betws-y-Coed one night in the dark which is not recommended. Book a taxi in advance if you want a night out without the car although the owners said they would have picked us up if we had have rang them!

All in all, a great site that I will visit again.
