i'm so happy i discovered this place! i'm vegetarian, and my husband is vegetarian / doesn't eat milk products (almost vegan!)... we were spoilt for choice here! they do cater for meat eaters too, so something for everone. Alpine Coffee shop is a palm oil free eatery, and provides information on this, without ramming it down your throat! it certainly got me thinking.
it has a really chilled out atmosphere, and has plenty of foody gifts for tourists to take away.
great service, friendly staff (without being 'in your face').
we will certainly be back! i love Betwys anyway, but this has just made it even more fantastic!!

oh, and i almost forgot, it has NINE pages of tea on its menu :-)
....and that was just the tea, the choice and quality of the drinks here is as good as the food!

We have been travelling for a week and I have been leaving plates full of inedible food. But I finished this lunch and ate my husband's salad too. They make their own delicious salad dressing so lettuce leaves were really tasty. I recommend the leek and potato pie. The chips are the best I've tasted in years. Clean plates all round! Friendly service. Good value. We'll be going back.

Always visit here when in Betws y Coed. Food is always great, with plenty of options(cake portions quite small for the price). Unfortunately the service on every visit is terrible. There seems to be a very slow and chaotic system in place, which leaves people queueing at the counter for ages, even if they are only getting a drink.

Called in for a cake and coffee on the 14th oct, (In fairness it was late in the day) but I'd have rather been told they were closing then serve us up with a bitter coffee, a weak wishy washy tea and a dry cake that we left with the hope it would be used to feed the birds. To make matters worse no toilets which should never be allowed (there is a not so clean toilet accross the toilet which can be used for 20p a time)
