“Its a novelty!”
Reviewed 31 July 2014

When holidaying me and my boyfriend came across this cafe and just because its a cool little carriage cafe I had to drag him in there. I had a hot chocolate and him a coffee. There was just one guy cooking serving and greeting customers which I thought must have been tough for him. However his service was lovely. The toilets on the carriage where just well we laughed because they where that terrible. The carriage itself is so old fashioned but lovely and we both loved the slate placemats they where so cool especially as there was a lot of slate everywhere. The two drinks however well they tasted a bit rank to be honest but I did find the marshmallows on the side a laugh. So overall its somewhere I would advice just to go have a drink and indulge in the surroundings. But don't expect too much.

“A must if you have kids”

Basic food at a reasonable price but on a train. Yes a train. Best train food I have experienced in Wales.

“Friendly service, a novel cafe!”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

The novelty of the cafe being inside a train carriage at Betws-y-Coed station attracted us there.

We first went in for a cup of tea and we were impressed enough to return for lunch after spending time in the town.

The service was extremely friendly and welcoming. For a small kitchen, the menu is quite extensive and is good value.

Although the decor is aged, I felt it adds to the quirkiness of sitting in a railway carriage.

I would definitely visit again if in Betws-y-Coed.

“Better Food & Drink Than BR Ever Served - Friendly Staff Too.”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

We decided to go to Betws Y Coed on a very hot day (1st July 2014). It was unplanned but not too far to go - about 30 minutes drive, and we hadn't been this year. As we hadn't eaten and most of the other cafes/restaurants were busy we went to this less well known little gem. We've had snacks here before and the staff have always been friendly. Unfortunately, we had to sit outside as the carriage doorway is too narrow to get a wheelchair through, but the outside seating area has been greatly improved since our last visit.

We had a very welcome mug of tea and one of the best hot chocolate drinks ever. Our food was
brought out very soon afterwards by a very pleasant young lady. A delicious and enormous steak and kidney pudding with chunky chips and a cheese and onion topped burger, again with chips and side salad. We were looking forward to having deserts afterwards, but unfortunately we were so full that we couldn't finish our main meals!

Never mind, we'll just have to return in a few weeks time to get our "just deserts".
Good food, quick service and very pleasant staff with a smile and laugh made it a great day.
Thanks.

“Could be better”

Nice and quirky and nice cup of tea. Service could have had more of a smile n maybe a little bit of a spruce up decor wise.
