The location was great, the cottage was good but for us it had to much a hotel ambiance. The cleanliness could be better. There where no one that to welcome us to the apartment. We did have seen better Cottages. It was not bad but it could be better.
Upon Arrival you automatically feel at home with the cottage having everything you will need( including a selection of treats), the owner Elwyn is on hand to make sure you are happy with the cottage and to help with anything you may wish to know. Views from the cottage are breath taking, although upon arrival we were greeted with gale force winds and hail stones, we had to wait till the morning to be greeted with mountains all around us. This was not a problem as the cottage is well heated and the log burner was a cosy welcome touch. We will certainly be re-booking to return this year. Thank you Elwyn 5 star holiday rental

My partner and I had an excellent long weekend here in March. The cottage was ever so cosy and warm whilst feeling spacious at the same time. The views out towards the front of the cottage are spectacular, especially when covered in snow as we had them. This weekend we experienced particularly bad snow fall so other than a trip to Betws-y-Coed before the snow fell we stayed local, walks up Moel Siabod (in full winter kit), a walk down to Tyn-y-Coed Inn for some food and drinks and then lounged about the cottage one evening watching films. As cold and blustery as it was outside the cottage remained warm throughout. Elwyn even did some work on the private road leading up to the cottage off the A5, to ensure we had a safe departure. We love this place and we plan on visiting again soon
Right up on the base of Moel Siabod, these 3 cottages offer stunning views north toward the Carneddau, as well as back down the valley toward Swallow Falls. Very well appointed, the cottage was very cosy during our stay - the underfloor heating makes such a difference when there is now around, not only keeping tootsies warm, but also ensuring that boots etc are dry again for the morning.
Beds area key telling point - the beds here are great - comfy with plenty of pillows, so a good nights rest is a given, given the peace and quiet of the location.
The sitting room is well fitted out, big sofas, and a log stove, together with tv, dvd, freeview and wifi.
The kitchen is great - microwave, hob, stove and a washing machine too, together with full size fridge and small separate freezer.
Diolch Ellie - a great place - we will be back
a few hints:
whilst the store in Capel Curig is convenient for basics, you're better to head to Betws or further to get a wider selection of food.
its a pleasant stroll down to the Tyn y Coed for a good pub with good food and beer
I'm 6'3" - be aware there are a few low ceilings and doorways which it took me a few bumps to remember :-)
We rented all three cottages for a group walking weekend. They’re all beautifully presented, well equipped and clean. The Welsh cakes in the welcome pack were a particular favourite of mine! We did two big walks – Glyder and Moel Siabod – and it was always nice to get back and warm up by the wood burner. Elwyn is the perfect host and went out of his way to ensure our stay was perfect. Would highly recommend and hope to return one day.
I stayed in this beautiful cottage over Christmas with my family and it was perfect. Lovely cosy and warm in such a quiet beautiful setting with lovely views over the mountains. We were even greeted with some nice local tasty treats on arrival. We had a lovely stay here and ant wait to visit again.
I love Snowdonia, and on a trip to hike to Moel SIabod in April, passed these cottages and thought they looked like a great place to stay. So I booked the middle cottage for my birthday. The cottage is spacious, comfortable, with great facilities and very cosy with the large sofas and log fire! Amazing location, with Moel Siabod only a short hike away and easy access to Snowdon and Llanberis. I will definitely be back to stay here!!!!!
