“Thank you so much for such a special day”
Reviewed 31 October 2012

We would like to thank the manager and all staff at Craig-y-Dderwen hotel for making our wedding such a special day. From the moment we first visited the hotel to the day itself, each time we contacted the hotel or visited we had excellent service, the manager going above and beyond in helping us organise our special day, and staff more than happy to help. My family also had the highest praise for the hotel during their stay the night before and after the wedding as well as the day itself. The river view rooms have beautiful views and are well worth the extra. The rooms with balconies enabled us to have quiet, peaceful time the evening before the wedding sitting out on the balcony, where staff were happy to bring dinner and drinks up to the room. The views up the valley, the trees, the sound of the river, it was just perfect. Breakfast the next morning was delicious, just what we needed to get through the morning, with views of the river from the beautiful conservatory room. Our wedding day itself was fantastic. We couldn't have wished for a more romantic setting for our ceremony, with the view of the river next to us as we said our vows. The conservatory room itself is tastefully decorated, light and of course with beautiful views. The grounds outside the hotel were perfect for the photos. Staff were helpful, kind, reassuring and went above and beyond to make sure everyone was happy. After the ceremony we had our wedding breakfast in the same room, where staff had ensured the tables looked lovely and our guests commented their meals were delicious. We could not have been happier with the beautiful setting, the hotel itself, the excellent service and our stay in the hotel. We highly recommend this hotel for any sort of stay - staying with family, or as a romantic getaway, and especially for a most beautiful wedding venue you could wish for!

Room Tip: The river view rooms are well worth the extra. All the balcony rooms are fabulous, and the riverview...

Some hotels are in fantastic locations and rely on that alone, others make do with their location and try to give the best service they can - this hotel is the best of both. The staff don't rest on their laurels and expect the fantastic views alone to wow you, they were all welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful.
We loved the hotel - rooms were big and comfortable, the views were breathtaking, and the amenities were generous.
We also ate at the hotel and were really happy we did. Delicious dinner and quick service.

Room Tip: We had a standard double and a riverview superking - standard double was spacious and comfortable. S...

Hi all, we booked the bridal suite for our Anniversary this year as it has a hot tub,wow what a lovely view. The room was lovely and clean, there was a warm welcome even by the stray cat on entry, the staff are friendly, even had there own bar a relaxing area, also has a restaurant and bistro area even somewhere to sit outside and the food was superb with lots of different dishes, also a different menu every night, I would highly reccommend to everyone. Set on lovely kept grounds with even their own vegetables growing in the distance and a river flowing at te side of the hotel grounds,so if you like abit of rambling you are able to cross the fields....hope this helps...

Room Tip: The Bridal Suite which has a hot tub outside on the decking, jacuzzi bath and shower, and a four poste...

We booked this hotel for a long weekend on the strength of Trip Advisor reports. We certainly weren't disappointed. The location next to the river is stunning - even more so when you're having a meal in the glass fronted dining room just above the river bank. We dined in the hotel 3 times & each time the food was excellent, as was the breakfast.
We thought the bedroom ( number 11 with a balcony overlooking the river ) was exceptionally well appointed with a huge comfy bed & lovely en suite.
No faults with the staff either, we found them friendly, courteous & helpful, which with all things combined added up to a really relaxing pleasurable experience. Some might say it's a tad expensive, but it's worth every penny. We are planning to return in the summer next year when we hope to see some sunshine!

Room Tip: Go for the rooms with a balcony - sitting out there with a glass of wine in the sun would be heaven.

I recently took my partner to Betws y Coed for a long weekend and stayed at Craig y Dderwen hotel. We were greeted with a warm welcome at reception, the room was more than spacious (a superking and worth paying for an upgrade), spotlessly clean and modern with all the facilities you would expect from a quality 4 star hotel with views that cannot be beaten. We dined in the restaurant and found the food, service and once again the views faultless, a true taste of welsh food cooked to perfection. In short my favourite place to stay, the only downside was that we had to leave.

Room Tip: Try the excellent afternoon tea

Just had a short break at this hotel - lovely superking room overlooking the river with very spacious bathroom. Very clean - very friendly - excellent food - would recommend.
We only booked b&b but ended up eating at the hotel every night. Extremely comfortable bed!

From booking in to checking out, this hotel met and exceeded expectations. Staff were helpful and friendly without being 'over the top'. We stayed in the 'Hot-Tub Suite', beautiful, spacious room, balcony overlooking the river and valley, felt totally spoilt for our anniversary weekend. Betws-y-Coed close enough to have a pleasant walk. Great Breakfast and service. Will recommend and return.

Room Tip: If you want the best, spend a little more and get the 'four poster suite' and definitely cho...
