This is a lovely place to stay. Cottage is close to betws-y-coed. Friendly convenient village: log burner was lovely. Tidy, clean and homely. Loved it !

“Perfect peace and quiet”
Reviewed 4 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

This little cottage is perfect for a get away for 2 people. It's been beautifully refurbished and has everything you need. It's a 30 second walk from the pub with lots of great walks in the vicinity. The terrace off the bedroom was a lovely surprise. It's really peaceful but with lots of friendly locals to chat to.

“Lovely Cottage but ....”

The seating in the lounge area was uncomfortable. There was only two armchairs but they where quite uncomfortable, even when sitting for a short period of time. Both my partner and myself had sore backs after our week. However this was the worst thing I have to say about staying in this little cottage. Its location was lovely buts its about 4 miles from the larger village of Betws-y-Coed with its hotels, restaurants and shops. The road is very winding with no lighting after dark so drive carefully!
I particularly liked the little outside balcony leading out from the ensuite bedroom which is up quite steep and narrow stairs from the open plan lounge and kitchen area. For a very small village Penmanchno is quite busy with through traffic. I believe this is because there is a bike trail further up the road which is very popular. However the traffic was only noticeable if you are in the cottage during the day. It was very quiet at night. The surrounding scenery is beautiful as you are in the heart of Snowdonia and the cottage is a good base from which lots of other locations in North Wales can be reached by car within one hour i.e. the coast.
