We stayed in this lovely country house last week. It was an amazing experience. We were greeted by Gareth, who offered to help with our bags, and then showed us around everywhere.
Our choice was the Robinson room. It is on the ground floor with access to the small garden. Gareth brought us a tray of tea, which we had out there.
The whole place was spotless, with coordinating furnishings and a lovely modern bathroom with lots of toiletries. The king sized bed was super comfortable, with lots of pillows. There was everything available, including plenty of tea/coffee etc., bottle opener, wine glasses, books and television. (Wifi available in the comfortable lounge)
Breakfast was in the conservatory, superbly cooked by Rana.
We hope to return again. The great hospitality shown by Gareth and Rana made it very special.

This was our second visit to Afon Gwyn (mid May), first time being 3 years ago. Rana and Gareth were welcoming and friendly hosts and we felt well looked after.
We stayed in the Alice Suite (the Sorrell Suite previously). Both lovely, clean, spacious rooms.
Gareth went the extra mile and arranged with the local restaurant reservations for our evening meal. This being one of the many courtesies shown by the hosts. Excellent choice/variety of breakfasts offered.
We hope to visit again, sometime in the near future.
Linda and Grahame Wilson, Wakefield

Room Tip: If you like a spacious room, opt for the Alice Suite or the Sorrell Suite.

We were greeted by Gareth with a pot of tea on arrival. Can't fault anything about this B & B it was immaculate, had friendly hosts and set in a peaceful location. The breakfasts were top quality and plenty of it. We stayed in the white room which was very comfy and spacious. Will definitely go back.

Thanks Daniel & Lorraine

Room Tip: Stay in the white room

This was our second break at Afon Gwyn, the first being just after Rana and Gareth took over in 2013.

Once again we were delighted with everything, from the warm genuine and friendly hosts to the fantastic Robinson Room overlooking/ with direct access to the gravel/shrub garden .
As always the room was spotlessly clean and fresh and the king-size bed was sooooooo comfy.

Their famous breakfasts are deliciously different: home-made yoghurt, kiwi/blueberry/ strawberry/pineapple are the fresh fruit to have alone or with cereal. The cooked breakfast follows and there's several choices if you don't fancy the full Welsh breakfast (but you should try it - very highly recommended).

Definitely 5 stars all round at Afon Gwyn - every time.

We will return again next year if not earlier.

This is a bit of luxury at a sensible price. The place is immaculate but welcoming, warm and friendly. Gareth and Rana cannot do enough for you and it is like staying with friends. The breakfast is very special with lots of choice and generous portions. The location is a very short walk from the village centre with plenty to do and lots of choice for eating. Would have no reservations about recommending this for a short or long stay and will definitely be going back.

I cannot fault this B&B at all! From the moment we arrived (greeted with coffee!) to the moment we left (helpful hand with our luggage) we received excellent service and help from Gareth and Rana.

The room we stayed in was the Alice Suite, which surpassed all my expectations - massive room, large, comfortable bed (super-king), comfy sofa and armchair, table and chairs ... and there was still plenty of room to swing a cat! (Metaphorically speaking, of course.) It had a double aspect, looking out over the garden and the beautiful river (). The road passes by, but I can honestly say the traffic noise did not bother me (I hardly heard it), and I live in a sleepy Norfolk village!

The bathroom was large with a toilet, bath, separate shower and his and her wash basins. Toiletries are all provided - even skin moisturiser!

The decor was very relaxing and good. I especially like the display of Alison Bradley prints in the breakfast room - one of my favourite artists! And talking of breakfasts ... Wow! A wide choice is available - cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, nuts (lovely!), juices, toast and a wide choice, made the evening before. I only had the full english, the gorgeous Belgian waffles (mmmmm!) and the omelette because ... I was only staying for 5 nights! Think I'd need to stay a month to try everything because what I did have was to die for!

Overall, a very relaxing stay. The hosts did everything to make my stay as wonderful as they could, and I would highly recommend this B&B. I have already booked to return next year.

(p.s. There is no swimming pool! Accidentally clicked and could not get rid of it. Naughty Tripadvisor!!)

Room Tip: The Alice Suite was exactly as the photos described. Light, airy and spacious. Would highly recommen...

What a wonderful place to stay. I booked this as a surprise birthday treat for my husbands 60th birthday. He was over the moon. We had a warm and friendly welcome from the owners Gareth and Rana who are lovely. We stayed in the Alice Suite. Wow! A real luxury room, with double aspect views over the garden and the river, an amazing super king size bed, comfortable sofa and armchair and table and chairs. Every detail had been paid attention to, from the welcome tray of coffee on our arrival to the toiletries, bath robes, slippers, hospitality tray and more. We bought some wine to have in the room one evening and a wine cooler was instantly provided. The breakfasts are delicious, a choice of full English, amazing waffles, eggs benedict and more together with cereals, fresh fruit and yogurt. A brilliant relaxing start to the day set in a beautiful light room overlooking the lovely garden. The whole hotel is lovely, really nice lounge and entrance hall. We felt cared for and special the minute we stepped through the door. I cannot thank Gareth and Rana for making our 5 night stay so amazing. Nothing was ever too much trouble. I will never be able to recommended this place to stay highly enough. It's more than 5 star. We have already booked to return to this home away from home next year.

Room Tip: Double aspect, bright and sunny and very spacious.
