“Lovely Stay”
Reviewed 11 May 2008

We had a great stay at Tyn-Y-Fron B&B. It is in a perfect location on a hill just a 7 minutes scenic walk into the town centre. Really comfortable bed and great breakfast. Very clean and peaceful. Lesley, the owner is very welcoming and helpful.

A warm welcome greeted us as did Tripod the small dog. The room that we had, could be made into a twin, was a good size, with electric blankets. Lots of tea & coffe making facilities, plus biscuits. Excellent breakfasts. Great views from the dining room.

We chose Tyn-Y-Fron from the Tripadvisor reviews and stayed for 4 nights (April 08)

Our stay was fantastic, the B&B is managed by Lesley who will make you feel most welcome and will do everything to make your stay perfect. Lesley should be commended for being a wonderful host, who obviously loves the house and having guests to stay. We will definately return and would recommend this B&B.

We stayed in Room 3 and had a very large room with beautiful views and a most comfortable bed (All the rooms are large and well furnished). The room had plenty of added touches which makes your stay much more comfortable than a normal B&B - plenty of tea/coffee makings, biscuits, shower gels, shampoos etc. TV/DVD, radio and general soft furnishings.

The breakfast menu will suit all tastes from a large cooked, to porridge (with a dash of whisky added if you wish !!), or plentiful supply of cereal, yoghurts, toast etc.

If you want an enjoyable and relaxing stay with lovely accommodation and hosts, then you will not go wrong with staying here.......We will most definately be returning.

Lesley also gave us the opportunity to look inside the cottage (available for weekly periods), this used to be the house's old coach house and was really pretty and nicely decorated - if we were staying for a week in the future, we would most definatley consider staying here.

An additional bonus to staying at Tyn-Y-Fron is the location. Betws-y- Coed centre is a lovely 7 minute walk along a footpath and across a suspension bridge.

We went to the information centre in town and purchased (£2) a walking gude to the Gwydyr Forest Park. This guide details 13 walks which can generally all start & finish in Betws-y-Coed. We used this throughout our stay and enjoyed fantastic walking through the forest and surrounding lakes. All the routes are easily followed using this guide map & colour coded posts (walks take between 1 hour and 4 hours). We also visited Snowdon (approx 12 miles away) and the LLechwedd slate caverns (approx 15 miles away), both were very enjoyable and worth the visit.

If you read this Lesley - thank you very much, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will most definately be returning (with a bone for Ben!)

Quick review: clean, well run, warm, everything to hand, excellent breakfast.

Stayed early April 2008 for a walking weekend. Made to feel at home straight away by Lesley. I stayed in room 2 - a double. The room is excellent - nice big comfy double bed. Don't bother taking anything other than clean clothes because everything you need is in the room! - loads of clean fluffy towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, tea, coffee, iron, TV, DVD player, hair dryer, extra pillows and sheets - even a sewing kit for those running repairs - excellent!

Breakfast is 5 star - help yourself to cereal and toast. Then make room for a full Welsh breakfast: bacon, sausage, beans, egg, tomato, hash brown, mushrooms - all on a nice hot plate - brilliant. Tea and coffee keeps coming as long as you have the room.

A special mention for Lesley - nothing too much trouble - a really nice lady.

I like the fact that this B&B is 5 mins walk out of town - which makes for a really peaceful stay, but close to the bright lights of Betws-Y-Coed.

For lunch and evening meals simply tell Lesley what you fancy and she will point you in the right direction. You really can't go wrong with any of the eateries - I have now been to 6 different establishments and not had a bad meal.

Lesley and Tony also have a recently refurbished cottage in the grounds available for guests - we had a tour and it looks fantastic.

I will defo be back to Tyn-Y-Fron.

I am not associated with the place in any way - just a happy and very impressed guest!
