“Fantastic!”
Reviewed 27 September 2009

We chose the Tyn Y Fron due to the good reviews given by previous guests, primarily on Trip Advisor, so our expectations were high and the reality certainly did not disappoint. This really is a lovely place to stay. It is in a beautiful location with stunning view and just just an easy 5 minute walk to the centre of Betws Y Coed. Our room (Mountain Sunset) was very spacious and tastefully decorated and furnished (as was the rest of the house) and ranks as one of the nicest, most relaxing and comfortable rooms we have stayed in anywhere (and that's alot of places).
Lesley, the host, is a charming and very friendly Lady who obviously cares about her business and her customers. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived and nothing was too much trouble for Lesley who seems to actually enjoy going the extra mile.
We very much look forward to returning to Snowdonia in the near future and will not think twice about where we should stay. The Tyn Y Fron was simply fantastic!

As soon as we arrived there was a lovely welcoming feel about the house,we were greeted with a smile and shown to the dining room where we took in the beautiful panoramic view. Then we were shown to our room the bed is seriously comfortable in fact i would have slept all weekend if i had the opportunity The room was spotless the bath was the biggest bath i have ever sat in so soothing :) there were herbal teas scrummy biscuits coffee and hot chocolate perfect.it was a good walkinto town it was hilly on the way back but that was the effect of the fab beers wines and fish and chips . The shops are great we had the best hospitality weve had in a long time (we are keeping this our secret ) we will come back soon for sure. ThankyouLesleyand staff.

We felt that the welcome given depended on WHO the client was. In our case we were on a rock climbing trip ...not the usual B and B guests I guess! (However we were paying top rates at £75 a night. The Manageress was not at all helpful about giving us an early Full English Breakfast and as a result we had to delay our breakfast the next morning until 8.30am. (unless we took the ceral and toast option) This meant we had to queue so long for our climb on Tryfan that we couldn't make the summit.

Lesley was welcoming, very helpful with local knowledge and provided absolute comfort.
Faultless breakfasts with provision for special diets.
Tyn-y-Fron nestles under the hill directly above Betws-y-Coed and looks out across the valley. The approach is quite steep, and challenging for drivers but we 70+'s managed found it 'no problem'. The location of the house, above the village and road allowed a remarkably good view of the night sky: astronomers note!

Our two night stay at the Tyn Y Fron was one of the highlights of a two week trip to Wales, Scotland and England. The views from all the rooms are spectacular (try to get a room in the front of the house for the best views), accommodations were immaculate and totally up to date with our room including all sorts of extra amenities (such as wine glasses, cushy towels and bedding, etc). Leslie, the proprietor, serves up a wonderful breakfast in a glassed in room overlooking the mountains and trees of the area. It's an easy walk to the town of Betws y Coed and Leslie will tell you the best places to eat and design the perfect drive, walk, hike or whatever fits your fancy. A great place to stay.

From the moment we arrived we were made so welcome and there was a lovely atmosphere in the house. The views from the front of the house are breathtaking and it was a pleasure to sit in the dining room each morning and be greeted by such a beautiful back drop. The breakfast was scrumptious and kept us going for most of the day! Our bedrooms were so well appointed with very tasteful decor and beautiful linen on the beds. The attention to detail throughout the house was the same everywhere, what wonderful taste Lesley has! Nothing was too much trouble and I asked for flowers in my parents room which Lesley arranged for me. This was a special trip for them as it was their 40th Anniversary and staying at Tyn Y Fron made it extra special. We did not want to go home and I'm sure we will be returning in the near future.
