“Perfect place for a walking trip”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

My girlfriend and I spent a lovely long weekend at Glyn Peris (and nailed walking up Snowdon with the guidance of host Paul - a qualified mountain guide) The guest house is spotless and our room was comfortable, quiet with all the facilities we needed. We had a lovely cooked breakfast each morning and both Ceris and Paul were super helpful and knowledgable on the area recommending loads of places to see and things to do.

I noticed a comment about too many rules and regulations and I have to say we found Glyn Peris to be quite the opposite. Yes there are some rules but Paul and Ceris seemed very laid back and are very accommodating if you need anything (like a cheeky extra sausage - thanks for that!).

Had a wonderful time and would fully recommend.

We spent a long weekend here, I booked Glyn Peris after reading the many fabulous reviews. Now whilst this was a lovely B&B and Ceris was very welcoming and helpful, never have I stayed anywhere with so many rules. It truly felt like being back at school. We arrived on a Saturday after first of all going to the Zip Wire Experience. We were greeted by Ceris, filled in forms for all three of us & also a breakfast card (breakfast is served between 0800 - 0900. (Breakfast was well cooked but not quality food).

We settled in and as we had not eaten since 1100 am that morning we headed down to PIzza & Pint on the recommendation of Ceris. After eating we walked in to Llanberis for a drink. Whilst at the pub we realised that the World Cup was showing and settled down to watch it. Unfortunately the game went to penalties and one of the rules of the house is you must be back by midnight (unless by prior arrangement) or the door is locked! So we headed off on a forced march to ensure we were back in time.

Other rules (all written and stuck around the B&B) or written in the welcome pack include not to place hot mugs on tables and to use the slate coasters, to be careful when opening and closing the shower door, not to bother booking if you are going to arrive later than 2130hrs, to name but three.

I've stopped in many places and never have I seen so many instructions, I can only presume it is due to Ceris' partners background in the military.

It really is a shame as it felt like being treated like a child (the three of us are to say the least of a mature age).

The B&B itself cannot be faulted for cleanliness, our room (no 7) was a decent size, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom and shower were nice. Our companion had a single room and this was quite small, although again very clean.

All in all I can appreciate why people rate Glyn Peris and I suspect the majority of guests are on a walking holiday or short break so will be going to bed early and rising early to get on the hills. However for those of you who may be like a little bit more freedom and not to be restricted I would not recommend staying here.

For anyone else then pay Glyn Peris a visit and enjoy.

Stayed here for three nights in May in a single room with an en-suite. Whilst the room was quite small it was comfortable and well equipped and the en-suite was excellent. The room rate was excellent considering a really good cooked breakfast was included. There was also a continental breakfast assortment, toast, cereals, juices, fruit and the like. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. There is parking on site. Llanberris is only a ten minute walk away. Ideal for hiking up Snowdon though there are other less strenuous walking routes nearby. The only downside is Llanberris itself which lacks the charm of other 'touristy' villages in the area. The pubs in particular are something of a let down and this is reflected in the fact that you do not come across many visitors in them. For those of you who travel with a dog the establishment is not pet friendly and so you need to look elsewhere. If travelling back to the area I would certainly stay at Glyn Peris again.

I enjoyed a lovely stay in this wonderfully situated guest house in March this year. Ceris and her partner were very friendly and full of information about the area. Paul has a mine of information about the local mountains and walks and is a qualified Mountain Guide. I really couldn't find fault in anything at the house; tastefully decorated, clean and excellent breakfast's. I will certainly be visiting again.

What a lovely welcome to Wales, greeted by Cerys who advised us on where to dine in the evening and we had a delicous dinner at a local hostilery.
Breakfast was very good (scrambled eggs near perfect) hot toast!lovely coffee,it was a great start to the day,we left with a spring in our step, thank you so much, we will return x

Room Tip: Room 4 at the back of the house with no other room joining so very secluded for a good nights sleep

Lovely house, immaculately kept, clean, tidy, warm, comfortable and very cosy. Room really nice and cosy and a perfect place to crash out after a days walking. Staff are very helpful, in particular, owner, Ceris, cannot do enough to help, very informative on all manner of things, from the best places to eat, to the various things to do and see, best walks etc and extremely welcoming. Had a wonderful stay, a true home from home with an excellent breakfast to boot!

I would definately recommend a stay in this lovely B&B and this beautiful part of Wales.
