Description: This is where Menter Fachwen originated. Originally a derelict cottaged called Bryn Peris, it is located within 10 acres of land in Fachwen on the edge of Snowdonia. It has now been transformed into a seasonal cafe serving homemade cream teas and light snacks. Its main customers are those walking through the forests of Fachwen or those who have taken a ride on the Llanberis Lake Railway; which stops at the bottom of Padarn Cafe's site.

Take a walk around Llyn Padarn starting from Llanberis. Follow the white trail markers. About half way, on the opposite side you will come to Caffi Padarn - go in! Warm welcome, good food, fabulous views to Snowdon, and a charitable social enterprise so you will be helping local people. Could you wish for more? I always go for the poached eggs but the cakes look good too. Worth getting your boots on for!

“Cafe Padarn”
Reviewed 3 April 2013

Charming little cafe and staff to match - a view over to Llanberis and Snowdon to die for.The day I came across it, on the round the lake walk, the unexpected Easter snow made the view extra special - as good as anything in the Alps.Lovely coffee and cake.

“A must visit for walking around Llyn Padarn”
Reviewed 26 March 2013

We started out from Llanberis and did a full circular walk of Llyn Padarn, stumbling upon this delightful little cafe which is about half way round, just past Fachwen. We were informed by the manager that this was a community project run business. The fare on offer was a delight with lovely home made cakes and hot chocolate. The view from the tables outside is simply stunning, looking over the Llyn towards Llanberis and the Snowdon Range. We are in this area quite a bit and even if we do not walk around the Llyn, we will certainly visit this lovely cafe again - they even gave our dog some home made treats and water. in sum, this place is a delight.

“Coffee anytime of the day”
Reviewed 23 June 2012

We thought this looked like a lovely café although it seemed that one of the ladies' humour had gone out of the window. Beautiful cup of coffee nonetheless after a trip to Mt Snowdon and a brief walk back to the hotel.

“BEST CAFE IN LLANBERIS”
Reviewed 15 May 2012

First, Sally, the manager and wonderful baker is a gem: she is friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The food is homemade and Sally bakes early in the morning. Second, the place is small but cosy and pretty. Good selection of snacks, cakes, drinks, etc. If you go for a walk around the lake or take the little train, do not forget to stop at caffi padarn for a break. It has lovely views of the town and lake. By the way, this cafe is part of a programme to help people with special needs.
