“comfort and value”
Reviewed 14 June 2012

Arrived at this hotel and was shown to our top floor room in the main building by the gentleman i presume was the owner whom was very helpful and informative. The room was spacious and the bed was huge and really comfortable and the bathroom was wonderful too with a roomy bath and powerful shower. My only gripe would be curtains looked a bit grubby on the bottoms in the room which i presume was from the windows being left open and rain maybe getting in on them and being a cream colour this looked a bit tatty, other than that i thought the room was well worth the money being charged. We stayed a few nights and i slept incredibly well, found the place very quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was lovely too and served promptly and was plentiful to set us up for a days sightseeing and adventure which even the rain could not spoil
if i past that way again i would certainly once more choose this establishment

Room Tip: top floor main house superb views and suprising quiet as on main road through llanberis

Arhosais am ddwy noswaith yn ystod 'Steddfod Yr Urdd yng Nglynllifon, gyda fy merch. Roedd y gwesty yn fach ond yn gartrefol ac roedd dim yn ormod o drwbl i Martin, y perchennog. Fe sicrhaodd fod gennym ni frecwast 'take-away' yn y bore, gan fod yn rhaid i ni gyrraedd y 'maes' mor gynnar. Roedd y 'stafell yn gyfforddus ac wedi ei haddurno yn hyfryd. Dewis da o de, coffi a siocled poeth ar gael ar yr hambwrdd a bisgedi a siocled hyfryd. Gallai'r tegell fod ychydig yn fwy, gan nad oedd yn dal digon o ddŵr i wneud dwy baned ar y pryd! Digonedd o ddŵr poeth ar gyfer y gawod a gwresogydd yr oeddwn yn medru ei rheoli yn yr ystafell. Doedd ddim golygfa arbennig gennym ni, ond doeddwn ni ddim yno am yr olygfa, ac roedd y tywydd mor wael, bydden ni ddim wedi medru gweld unrhywbeth ta pun ni! Roedd y brecwast yn ganolig, byddwn wedi hoffi gweld gwell ddefnydd o gynyrch lleol. Fel ffermwr llaeth, cefais siom i weld menyn o Seland Newydd ar y bwrdd. Serch hynny, roedd digon o fwyd ar gael a digon o amrywiaeth. Rhaid hefyd talu sylw i'r siop 'kebabs' yn y pentre’ - ffantastig!

Stayed for 2 nights with my daughter in a twin room. Nothing too much trouble for Martin, the owner. We had to leave very early on the first morning for a competition a few miles away & he made sure that we had a 'take-away' breakfast to take with us! Lovely room, nicely decorated. Welcome tray well stocked with a good selection of teas, coffee & hot chocolate. Lovely biscuits too. Kettle could do with being slightly larger as it didn't hold enough water for 2 cups. Plenty of hot water & a radiator that we could adjust ourselves. We had a room at the rear of the building where the view was limited, but we wern't there for the view & the weather was so bad, we wouldn't have been able to see anything anyway!
Special mention to the kebab shop in the village - fantastic!
Breakfast was average. I would liked to have seen more use of local produce & as a dairy farmer, I was not best pleased to see New Zealand butter on the table!

Room Tip: Ystafelloedd cefn - dim golygfa ond yn dawel. Rooms at the rear - no view, but quiet.

We were looking for a nice Hotel situated near to Mount Snowdon where we could relax after a nice day driving through the mountains.
After arriving early we were a little worried about how it looked from the outside but inside it was lovely.
The Alpine Lodge is more of a B&B than a hotel but they seem to have made a lot of effort with the rooms.
We paid the extra and stayed in room 8 which was nicely decorated with a lovely bathroom and had stunning views of the lake and mountains. A comfortable bed with lovely soft sheets were perfect after a day on the road.
The only negatives for me would be that the cooked breakfast was a bit greasy and the pillows on the bed were a bit too soft for my liking but this is more down to personal preference than a criticism.
We would definitely stay here again and would definitely recommend this accomodation especially with the upgrade!

Booked this hotel for a two night stay, was v surprised at how nice the room was. Extremely clean and with great views over the mountains. Bed was comfortable but firm with soft white sheets, pillows and cushions. Bathroom was simple but very clean with a good quality shower. They also put fancy hand soaps, shampoos and body lotions in the bathroom, as well as a pot with cotton buds, nice added touch. On arrival, we had tea making facilities in the room and a little crunchie bar, as well as hot chocolate sachets, which was nice! The owner was v welcoming and told us the best ways up snowdon, as well as where the nicest places in town to eat are. Breakfast was quite standard, choice of a fry up, cereal, toast, yoghurt, fruit etc. Quite basic but lots of choice and very tasty.

Room Tip: Go to the heights hotel for dinners/drinks. It's a 5 min walk down the high street and very nice...

we booked this hotel not expecting much but were pleasantly surprised. on our arrival we were met by the manager and shown to our room, he then showed us the summit of snowdon which can be seen from the back of the hotel on a clear day. as it was our first time to visit snowdonia he then directed us to the train station and told us about local attractions. our room was lovely. bed was gorgeous, a real home from home. the hotel wasnt very busy when we were there so didnt have any problems with noise. breakfast was lush. we stayed for two nights and i thought it was excellent value for money. we managed to get to the summit (even if it was by train), the views were spectacular and i would highly reccomend it. also a trip to caernarfon castle is not to be missed. if we go back to snowdonia i will definately be booking this hotel.

Room Tip: try and book room 8.

We have just returned from a 2 night break for my partners birthday. We had a double room in the main house, lovely views of the lake and mountains. Our room was spacious and clean, comfy king size bed with white cotton bedding, fluffy towels, a great en-suite with L shaped bath and overhead powerful shower. The owners even provided a complimentary bottle of fiz. Breakfasts were plentiful, a great way to start a day on the mountains. Llanberis is an ideal location for Snowden, but this can get overcrowded. We went to Croesor and did the ridge walk over Cnicht and through the valley, beautiful and really peaceful!!
Overall, this was a great break in a friendly and very comfortable hotel.
PS. Had a great curry in the restaurant across the road Spice of Llanberis.

What can be said, an excellent stay, the bed I wanted to take it home!!!! Although the walls are very thin and could do with some insulation, all in all a welcoming host and great stay.
