“Outstanding. Wonderful flavours and presentation. Air-conditioned. Worth travelling to Brecon for.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2014

Really excellent Indian restaurant. Four of us all chose differently; our mains were butter chicken, tandoori mixed grill, machilli masala and peppery korai. Everything was presented in a different way; it looked fabulous and tasted just as good; quality meats and fish, deep flavours, and all very distinctive - a level well above the kind of Indian restaurant where everything looks and tastes much the same.

Level of chilli heat is indicated on the menu; we found the sheek kebab and keema naan unusually spicy - no complaints though.

Price for four (starters and mains) around £80 including drinks, not including tip.

Friendly service. Simple, modern, stylish decor. Air conditioning much appreciated in current heat wave.

Location is in the centre of town roughly opposite The George Hotel. If you are arriving by narrowboat as we did, it's just a few minutes walk up into town from the canal basin.

“Delay, wrong orders and hair and plastic in food”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2014

We live quite near and have visited several times. the curries are on the whole fine, but I have had to wait more than an hour on one occassion (despite booking), and more than 1/2 an hour when picking up a pre-ordered takeaway.

On 3 occassions we have not been given what was ordered (for takeaway), but were too hungry to go back and wait.

The killer has to be the hair found in two curries and the sharp pieces of plastic in one.

There are other curry houses in Brecon for which you may have to wait if they are busy, but they give you the right food without plastic and hair (so far!)

Varied choice of traditional and more exotic dishes. Fresh ingredients which reflected in the fresh taste of all meals chosen. The added bonus was that it was very good value for money!!
