“Old Mill: best B&B ever !!!”
Reviewed 8 July 2013

This June we stayed for 2 nights at "Old Mill". Pam and Haydn gave us such a very warm welcome and first tipps where to have our dinner (don´t save your money - enjoy Felin Fach Griffin). Our room, the "Old Mill" itself, the "farm" with cickens, horses, dog, ... it was such a nice and relaxing place to stay.
Breakfast was perfect - each day prepared especially to our wishes with really good coffee, eggs from their own farm and smooth music - a really good start in a new day.
And if there was a question, Pam and Hayd knew perfect answer.
In case of coming back to Wales, Old Mill is our favourite B&B - it can´t be better !!!! Best wishes to Pam and Haydn from Austria. Best regards, Ingrid und Werner

Room Tip: Doesn´t matter which room you choose - Old Mill, Pam, Haydn - absolutely perfect!!!!

i stayed here for 2 nights (fri and sat) having booked through Equestrian Escapes for a horse riding weekend with my fiance. having taken a little while to find the place (the village of Felinfach doesnt actually show at all on my AA Map) i was really wowed by the place. The Old Mill is literally that - a beautiful old mill with a stream running alongside with chickens running about and a gorgeous winding little driveway up to the front of it.
Pam and Hayden the owners are lovely and very welcoming. i arrived slightly early to book in but Pam brought me tea and biscuits and kindly let me change ready to head off to the stables.
the rooms here (i think there are 3 b&b rooms in all) are lovely and a really good size. we had a big room with windows on the front and side with a little ensuite perfect for a quick shower after being in the saddle all day.
the breakfasts are out of this world! fresh eggs from the hens (and believe me you can tell!) amazing bacon and sausages - i highly recommend the full breakfast it was perfectly cooked. you can also help yourself to cereals, tea, coffee, juice, yoghurts etc. and the chance to chat with fellow guests too in the cosy breakfast / dining room.
the b&b itself is in the middle of Felinfach (about 15 mins from the Ellesmere riding stables in Llangors) and it has 2 pubs / restaurants within crawling distance. a good nice local type pub with good basic pub grub. we ate here on the first night and it was great fun. friendly owner and good honest food. the other pub (the griffin i think) looks lovely and is a bit more of a fancy restaurant and a bit pricier - looked lovely but we didnt get chance to eat there.

all in all a gorgeous b&b - perfectly located for either a base to explore the brecons or for the ellesmere riding centre if you're planning a bit of a horsey weekend. very highly recommended and i'm already planning to book again for later in the year! huge thanks Pam and Hayden - hope to see you both soon!

Room Tip: we had the double room with ensuite - lots of room and plenty of light and a great view

My daughter and I stayed here for a pony trekking weekend and we have to say that it was the most comfortable and welcoming places we have ever stayed. Pam and Hayden were so welcoming, it was like coming home. The breakfast was amazing, with local bacon and sausages and cooked perfectly. I would not hesitate to recommend this B&B, it's easy to find and would be great for anyone visiting the area or going to the Hay literary festival. Thanks Pam and Hayden, we did not want to leave!

We stayed here for one night on 4th June. It was easy to find and we received a warm welcome upon arrival. Pam and Haydn were fantastically helpful, offering advice about what to do locally and also about the next leg of our journey north. The room and private bathroom had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast the next morning was plentiful and delicious. I would recommend staying here.
