“Clean, good value b&b”
Reviewed 11 January 2014

Went to the Tourist Info centre for a list of accommodation when I arrived in Brecon late afternoon.
Decided on this one because of the parking & overall was very satisfied with my choice. The room I had was very clean & everything I needed was provided & everything worked, the breakfast was ok & the the price for the room was very reasonable. The only criticisms I have is that the pillows weren't very good & I think probably needed changing & the soundproofing wasn't very good. Overall though, I would recommend staying here - the proprietor & staff were pleasant.

Stayed here recently for a weekend’s break walking in the Beacons. David and Mandy are a friendly couple who make their guests feel at home. We had a comfortable twin room on the second floor, with a view of the mountains through the skylight (always useful to check the likely weather). A reasonable breakfast in a good-sized breakfast room (pleasant contrast to some others I have stayed in). They have a dedicated car-park, but we never needed it as there is on-street space. Ten minutes walk into Brecon (longer if you stop at the excellent Llanfaes Dairy ice-cream parlour).

Very good value at £55 per night for the twin room.

Really original, log cabin like feel. The comfiest beds I have tried in quite a while. Had an epic sleep !We didn't have breakfast because we shot off early. Would happily recommend. Well worth the price

Room Tip: We loved the top floor room

Very friendly and comfortable family run B&B.
The two rooms we had were very nice and roomy, which comfortable beds and great on-suite facilities.
Everyone was really friendly and helpful for the three nights that we stayed there.
Overall excellent value for money.

We stayed her whilst working up at the summer fair at the mountain centre. The owners were very friendly , even carried our case up to our room. The room had everything in it that we needed , free wifi , very hot water for a bath and feather pillows which were great. The breakfast was very nicely presented and tasty.

We hadn't booked anywhere and saw their vacancy sign - offered to show me the room before we took it - it was gone 6pm on a Saturday night - had had a long day would have slept anywhere - so just said we'll take it - We were really happy with our room, No. 12 in the roof - think swiss ski lodge, but it was just ideal, very good value for money and they had a car park at the back - friendly welcome, warm, clean room, good shower and good breakfast - walked 10 mins in Brecon all sorts of places to eat and drink to choose from to suit all - recommend The Old Castle Farm B & B down to earth hard working family run establishment Many Thanks David and Mandy

We stayed here for one night on a cycling trip across Wales.

The owners are very pleasant, we arrived ahad of time, and we got to use the shed to lock up our bikes, as well as the back yard later in the evening for bike repairs.

Our room was very special, it was long and slim, with a bathroom with a window that went right into a brick wall. There was also a "room window", however this solution made it quite claustrophobic and stuffy. Generally a bit of a let down.

The breakfast the next morning was good.

I think there might be nicer rooms in the establishment.
