An excellent position for accessing the town, the theatre and canalside walks. The Brecon regimental museum is also close-by. Rooms are airy, clean and functional. Hosts Mary and Gareth are very welcoming.

I had Sunday lunch at The Gremlin.
It was good basic food, which was hot and very cheap.
The decor needs updating, or cleaning or something.
It is just daggy and dark and slightly smelly. I think it's the carpets.
You can't have a pot of tea there because sorry we don't do tea. What?
So go somewhere else.

Can't understand how you had a Sunday lunch on a Saturday we don't cook on Saturdays. We also serve coffee and tea . I think you have the wrong place as our only carpet was new last year .

My husband and I stayed in both the cottages and hotel part of the Gremlin for a total of 6 months whilst working in Brecon. Both types of accommodation are of excellent quality, the cottages being a 2 storey, self catering lodge, complete with kitchen and lounge area and each of the hotel rooms with very comfortable beds and excellent facilities including en-suite bathroom. The owners, Mary and Gareth are totally welcoming and nothing is a bother to them. We can honestly say that we have never met such wonderful staff and regulars of the Gremlin pub who are all local people that are so knowledgeable on the history of Brecon and its wonderful buildings . My husband has worked all over the country and this place has by far beaten anywhere else we have stayed. We are now moving on to another part of the country and already are planning returning to visit in our own time, something that in 20 years, we have never done before!

We stayed two nights in this b&b and to be honest it was too long. The owners are really nice but that's about it.
My friend was eaten alive by gnats in the bed during the night, the place smelled strongly of stale tobacco and it was extremely noisy from the pub downstairs - all night especially when they have a lock in and don't finish till 2am!. When we booked we thought it was the gremlin lodge as the website was very deceiving. We were advised the night before we arrived we were actually in the hotel. Which is basically a smelly little room above the pub. We could have put up with it wasn't for the gnats.
Definitely would not recommend it - especially not suitable for families.
Sorry won't be going again.

Stay there while on a regimental reunion. Made us more than welcome. Booked and stayed in the 3 cottages at the rear of the main building. Good breakfast would recommend
