“Excellent Service at a quaint B&B”
Reviewed 16 February 2013

We pulled into the tight but secure car park quite late on a Friday night - armed with a bottle of wine and some nice Welsh cheeses. The owner showed us to our room, explaining that there's free on street parking across the road, should we not find a free space when returning. She also armed us with a knife, some plates, and glasses so that we could enjoy our bounty.

Our room was spacious and comfortable with a large ensuite bathroom and plush carpeting (in the bedroom not the bathroom). There is plenty of space for clothes and bags, and the bed is comfortable with freshly pressed sheets. Very nice!

There's also a new TV with a good selection of channels - and plenty of tea and coffee.

It's worth noting that we had one small problem which the owner dealt with immediately and professionally ... And gave us a bottle of wine as well. This was not necessary but certainly another sign of her professionalism and helpfulness.

Breakfasts were also very good. The usual full English for me and really well done scrambled eggs for my wife with plenty of coffee and OJ.

The owner reviewed our plans for the day and gave us helpful tips.

We'll be back and recommend this B&B.

Room Tip: Ask for room 4 if you want a double bed and large ensuite bathroom.

Rather old fashioned but clean and tidy. My room was a decent size but there was no ensuite. The bathroom - no shower - is across the narrow corridor and you get a key to ensure the bathroom is not used by anyone else. I asked for a vegetarian breakfast but surprisingly there were no veggie sausages and hash browns. Parking is very tight if you have anything above a Golf-sized vehicle. Owners/staff friendly and B&B reasonably priced but could do with updating. Close to the centre of Brecon and also to the canal which is lovely.

Stayed here with my family recently and can't fault our stay. The room was ideal and as it was a family room the children even had their own space "bedroom".
Great couple, nice clean room and dog friendly too all for such a reasonable price. Breakfast was the icing on the cake!! Thanks Jan and Ian for a lovely stay

My wife and I stayed for two nights at the beginning of April 2012 on arrival we were asked if we wanted a room with a bath or shower, we elected a shower and were allocated room No 4. The room had a double bed an en-suite shower room, plenty of storage and tea/ coffee making facilities. Although small it was comfortable and spotless. The property was originally a coaching house and as such the ceilings are low the stairs are winding and the floors creak. Our room was facing the main road but the road noise wasn't too bad. We did notice that the windows weren't double glazed probably due to the planning regulations. During our stay the weather changed and snow fell however the central heating made the room warm and cozy. On the down side the toilet system is small bore and after use was a little noisy especially at night. Our two tips :- Although there is parking available in the court yard be aware that the entrance from the road is tight and I mean tight take it easy. The breakfast is superb the full english is one of the best I've have had in years. A great stay with friendly service. Would we stay again YES !

Room Tip: The rooms on the front could be noisy but I believe there are rooms accessed from the court yard whi...

I and my friend headed to Brecon for a wedding, we had a twin room booked and arrived late Friday night. The room was ace for what we needed. Up for a full english in the morning, asked the owners the locations for where we needed to go and they could not help us enough. When it came to us heading to the wedding it started to rain and the owners kindly offered us some umbrellas to borrow :) All round nice and helpful and the B&B was perfect for what we needed it for. They also have 2 lovely labrador's which swayed it big time for us :)
Thanks it was a great stay and would definitely go back again
Central, on main road, 2mins walk in to town centre.

A one night stay and the most enjoyable of our holiday: a first time visit to Brecon and enough to make us want to return!
The ground floor room in the back courtyard of the old inn had an excellent shower, large comfortable bed and there was plenty of room for all our bags and cases. Cosy and cottagey.
The car park was small and care had to be taken to enter and exit but this was very well organised and had security gates as well.
Location is excellent for strolling in Brecon with the South Wales Borderers Museum, many shops and canal and river walks nearby.
The friendliness and kindness of the owners, their beautiful hanging baskets and the quaint old building was everything we wanted.

I would like to say a big thank you to the owners of the boarderers for making us so welcome. I had been looking for accomodation in brecon to accomodate my family and my dog as we went walking to the pen y fan mountain range and all I can say that it was outstanding.. And also just to say they have a lovely carpet in there dining room as It was getting fitted when we arrived and also helped to move there welsh dressers but thewy gave us an extra rasher of bacon and an extra egg for doing so for breakfast..
Thank you guys for a night

Regards
