“A great stay”
Reviewed 18 October 2011

We had a lovely weekend and were very well looked after. Steve and Emma are great hosts and (in our opinion) have the balance just right between spending time with the guests and providing time for guests to be by themselves. Excellent breakfasts with e few beers an G and Ts thrown in (Nick and Richard particularly keen on the G and T option!!).
The house is very well placed for walking and we'll be back soon.

I just ran a long weekend yoga retreat at Danyfan. It was so perfect. The cosy rooms looking up at the mountains of Brecon Beacon National Park and the delicious food cooked by Stevie. Emma making sure everyone had a Gin and Tonic or glass of wine with some home cooked canapes by the fire before dinner. Doing yoga in the conservatory was so lovely too. I will return.

Thanks to Emma, Steve (and Judy the dog!) for making our stay in Brecon so pleasant. The house is still under going transformation in parts which others have also commented on, but this didn't impact on our stay at all.
We were in room 2 which was nice, traditional style fittings to the bathroom.
We were made to feel very welcome and provided with a much needed cuppa and home-made biscuits on arrival! Yum!
Great breakfasts in the conservatory to set you up for a day in the hills. A fantastic base for exploring Pen y Fan and neighbouring peaks.
Can pass on recommendations for both Roberto's Italian and Ghurkha Corner restaurants in town.
All the best to you both with the rest of the works on the house and your 'bump'! Chris & Cherry

It's Emma and Steve's first year of running a B&B and they have done a remarkable job setting Danyfan up. They are both very friendly and in a lovely way it really feels you are being welcomed into their home. The room was very comfortable and elegantly decorated. We were fortunate enough to be getting evening meals as part of the activity weekend package, which were incredibly delicious. Steve is an excellent cook. Breakfasts were likewise very tasty with fresh sourdough bread and lava bread being real highlights.

I went to Danyfan for one of their photography weekends, which provided the fun. Richard, the instructor, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and good company. Danyfan itself is in an idyllic location, with a great view up onto the hills from the breakfast conservatory, and there are a great many extraordinarily beautiful places to photograph within easy reach. I'm writing about this experience separately in a blog post for them.

My wife (not on the course) found the walk down into Brecon centre an easy 40 minute stroll and spent a very nice day exploring the cathedral and the antique and book shops. She also made it up to the top of the slightly more challenging Pen-y-fan the following day. One of the routes up the peak starts just a little further up the road Danyfan is on.

Overall top-drawer and exactly the sort of place I wish I could afford to live at all the time. We're definitely planning on returning again next year.

We had a lovely couple of nights stay last weekend. Breakfast was great. Still some work to be done to the house etc but think it will just improve with this. Emma and Stevie were very laid back and welcoming. We didn't try an evening meal as we weren't organised enough. Rode the Gap Road which is easily accessable from the house.
Would like to stay again but I believe the whole house will be rented out soon rather than a B&B - maybe take the whole family!

Danyfan is hosted by Emma and Steve, who are both lovely. My room was spacious and had thee most comfortable bed. Dinner was great, but the dessert even better - it was a twist on an Eaton Mess and just tasted the business.

The location of Danyfan is very tranquil and simply beautiful, I wish I'd had more time.

Breakfast in the morning was cooked by Emma. It tasted wonderful, all the ingredients tasted fresh and the sour bread was also really tasty.

In all, perfect. Go stay there.
