Ty Newydd was the perfect spot for a getaway. Clean, comfortable, beautiful views, hiking trail along the canal, great breakfast, and Rachel was a very cheerful hostess. It is situated close to Brecon and Brecon Beacons National Park. We felt very fortunate to stay here during our short, early-March trip. The canal boats moored for the winter promised a future adventure.

This is a lovely smart, comfortable B & B. We received a very warm welcome from Rachel. The room (twin) was large and comfy with smart bathroom and plenty of storage and sitting space. The B & B is newly renovated in a warm and relaxing style and has great views of the canal and the Brecon Beacons and is a short walk to the excellent restaurant in Llanfrynach village and a short drive into Brecon itself. There is masses of information about walks, rides and activities in the area and Rachel is very helpful with suggestions. Breakfasts were nicely cooked and tasty with filter coffee "on tap" and a well stocked fruit bowl. Nice touches - fairtrade tea and coffee, bag for recyclable rubbish, boot and coat drying room, torches and maps to borrow - and an Easter Egg. Thank you.

Our visit started with a very warm welcome from Rachel. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The location was beautiful and very peaceful along the canal and surrounded by the Brecons. The breakfast was superb with locally sourced produce. Rachel recommended a pub for an evening meal which was amazing. Ty Newydd also offer self catering that looked lovely, all freshly decorated and to a high standard, with storage spaces for dirty boots & cycles!! All in all an ideal place to stay.

A brilliant place to stay as a base for getting out and about in the Beacons. Very friendly hosts, lovely peaceful location, excellent locally sourced cooked breakfast. There are plenty of great pubs and restaurants in the local area. We will certainly be returning in the not too distant future!

We booked this for a weekend just by chance and so glad we did. A really friendly welcome, very comfortable room - absolutely spotless - REALLY comfortable bed and an excellent breakfast plus beautiful surroundings and handy for the Brecon Beacons, Talybont-On-Usk and canal walks on the doorstep. We couldn't have asked for more. There are lots of other B&Bs in the area, but I doubt you'd find better.

Very welcoming, great breakfast and comfy beds. Perfect for a walking or cycling weekend I think. Would be great if you could hire canal boats too as it is literally at the bottom of the drive. Would be a great package to offer.

I don't think there is any other way to describe this than idyllic! We had a lovely stay here last August - both the surrounding scenery and the house are beautiful. The room we had was at the top of the house and was extremely comfortable - we came with our young baby and there were no issues. Owners were very welcoming and helpul and actually lent us a map of surrounding area for our stay. Oh yes.... and great fried breakfast.
