On Friday, 9th August, 2013 together with Partner Jannette and Grandchildren Kelsey (8)
and Charlie (6) I boarded the Dragonfly for what was to prove a thoroughly enjoyable Cruise on the Monmouth/Brecon Canal.
We were welcomed on board by Skipper David, his Wife Sharon and Sid the friendly "Jack Russell" The Dragonfly was full and it would appear that this is the case, this time of the year. The peaceful journey lasted over two hours and the highlights were negotiating the Brynach Lock and also the stunning view accross the River Usk when the Dragonfly turned around.
Indeed there was plenty to see, lot's of wildlife on and alongside the Canal, Thanks to the Skipper's navogation skills we comfortably passed all sorts of traffic and the friendliness of our own party and the response of other Canal users was evident for all to see.
Teas and snacks were available on the outward and return journey. (for a small fee) The children were also given a souvineer picture of the "Dragonfly" together with colouring crayons. A nice little touch, well appreciated!
All in all Great Day Out, well worth the £20-00 (family ticket)
