After dashing about on other days of our holiday it was great to pootle along the canal for the afternoon. We'd echo all the favourable comments of other recent reviews though we'd also agree that the commentary was slightly disappointing as we couldn't hear it all over the chatter of fellow passengers, and what was clearly designed to be played at various points on the cruise was played in it's entirety at the start.

A truly relaxing experience, just floating along through some beautiful countryside. A lovely way to spend a warm sunny afternoon. The staff were lovely - very helpful and seemed genuinely happy to be welcoming us aboard. Dave, our skipper was full of banter and with Sid the dog they add a good nautical flavour to the trip. My one criticism, and it's just a little one, is the 'canned' information tape which was played to us. Either a tape with headphones for those who want to listen or Dave giving us the spiel (he did the safety talk really well). The tape just seemed to get lost in the background chatter. Sharon did a great job on the refreshment front even though they'd had problems with their boiler. Really nice interaction with the kids on-board too. A great way to spend an afternoon and the £7.50 for a two and a half hour trip seemed very reasonable, we even had newspapers supplied, not that I read them there was too much to look at!

We were a large group and wanted a picnic boat and a few of us to go on the canal boat. We all set off at the same time and had a great cruise down the river. Once at the lock they let all of us board the barge and join the others and go through the lock. The staff could not have been more friendly. All the children drove the boat and it was great fun. I would thoroughly recommend this activity to anyone visiting the Brecon area. Good value for money and great fun.

My Husband and i had a lovely laid back cruise on the canal .
Very informative pa system and added knowledge from the boat hands.
Very roomy and we enjoyed a welcome cup of coffee.
The charge of £7.50 per person was reasonable for 2.1/2 hour cruise.
The boat takes 50 people so not crowded and you sit in allocated seats.
You are given a free paper and an informative flyer about the canals history.
Going through the lock was an experience and crossing the aquaduct looking at the wonderful scenery was not to be missed.
We shall be repeating this with family and friends next month.

We hired a Picnic boat from Dragonfly. We were all very impressed it came back from being used. It was hovered and cleaned throughout before it was handed to us. After a quick safety talk we were on our way. We hired for 3 hours. What we didn't realise it was only a 40 min trip to the lock where you cannot go any further. I think you should be aloud to continue through the lock as it's such a short otherwise. Other companies allow this on a 3 hour trip

Will only book again if you can go through the lock
