I booked the Gorge Walk through the recommendation of my 11 year old who had done this event through her school residential trip. 11 family friends came consisting of 4 adults and 7 kids ranging from 9 years old to 14 yrs. We were kitted up with double layers of wetsuit, jacket and boyancy aid and helmet. Luke & Hayden were brilliant instructors, insulting and encouraging us along the way, the kids showed no fear and lept into the cold October river with a whoop. Scrambling through the wormhole, diving under sunked logs, being held under waterfalls, crawling on hands and knees behind waterfalls then leaping into the waterpit, our kids didn't even bat an eyelid when it came to the 18ft leap into deep churning water. Terrifying, exhilirating, amazing and wow do I ache, but would def recommend it. You need to be a strong swimmer in some parts and older adults can do the dive into the hell hole, you can turn your ankle, crush your knees, fall over, smash your fingernails, hit rocks and get very very wet, but hey, you only live once! RECOMMENDED. The only thing to remember is there's no loo breaks and nothing to snack on drink during the whole day, so bring an enormous lunch/soup once you finish, as you're famished at the end of the day.
