We stayed for 2 nights, Room 21 is well known to the staff as a noisy room because of the floor boards in room 41 which is directly above, didn't get one wink of sleep complained next day and they said sorry, when we checked out they only discounted the room a measly £25 off the £75 for that night only.
Ate both nights in restaurant, service was slow and uninviting food was inconsistent.
So much room for improvement, like spending money to solve noisy problem.

Well,we booked this through Groupon because my partners sister lived close, so had read reports before arriving and we were not to be disappointed.
If you ignore the scenery (impossible!!) and the natural beauty of this part of Wales (again impossible) you have a lovely hotel in a great position with good clean rooms, hot water as required and excellent food.
Some may say that the floorboards are rather uneven but that just adds to the appeal.
We arrived and immediately had that feel good factor about the hotel, all staff encountered were most helpful and I could not believe how cheap the bar drinks were. In fact I had to buy another round just to confirm this!!!
We were lucky to stay on Wednesday night as they had the Carvery on, excellent food and as much as you could eat. All the staff in the restaurant followed the examples set by others and this was repeated in the morning at breakfast.Again the quality was not lacking and the choice more than adequate.
Thoroughly a most enjoyable time and we will be returning.

Room Tip: We can only comment on Room 24, overlooking the patio, and it lived up to our expectations.

Our room was huge- plenty of room for my Texas-sized teen and I. He was thrilled to find free wi-fi and I was thrilled to have a nice cup of tea and free cookies in the room after a long drive. The staff were wonderful-very helpful and friendly. Because we arrived later than expected we opted to just eat in the dining room rather than roaming the village. It was "carvery" night and was a special treat! The food was excellent and plentiful. The chef allowed us to sample a little of everything and told my son that he could have seconds if he was still hungry.

Hotel and room beautifully and tastefully furnished. Lovely atmosphere and stunning location.Breakfast was lovely also. A perfect 40th birthday break. Cannot fault at all. Can't wait to go back.

Try the Gurkha Corner in town for an amazing curry!

We arrived early on motorbike but friendly receptionist said we could store helmets and bag in cupboard. The room was very clean and the uneven floor added a touch of amusement to the stay. We stayed for Valentine's night and the special menu was delicious with the waitresses being very attentive. The breakfast was again to a high standard. The only criticism was the slightly feeble shower but this did not spoil our stay at all. Definately would stay there again.

We booked through Groupon and updated to a superior double room. When we arrived we were told we were in the cottage at the side of the hotel. I didn't know what to expect but it was a pleasant surprise. The room had a living space, large tv, dining room with table, 2 sofas, lovely bedroon with quality furniture and a very nice bathroom. Much better than a normal room and who cares about the view when it's raining! From the receptionist to the bar staff and waitresses everyone were helpful and very polite. We ate our eveing meal there and this was exceptional and not too expensive for what you got. The breakfast was buffet style and you could eat all you wanted from cereal to a fried breakfast and this was also excellent. The parking was a bit of a pain though, we had the last space and we were there 2 hours before we could check in. We would recommend this hotel and we will return.
