Nice hotel in Breacon built near castle's ruins.
Beautiful rooms with large, comfortable beds. Large bathroom with all the toiletries you need.
Also very good the restaurant and breakfast.
Except the Italian guy who was very kind with us, the reception staff is not so friendly. At the time of check out we pointed out that our shower did not work but they did not even apologize for the inconvenience.
Aside from this particular, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Having arrived at the hotel without a reservation at approx 3.30pm we were delighted to be offered a standard or superior room. We opted for a superior room, however after opening the door it was immediately apparent that the room had not been serviced or cleaned as the bed was still unmade and the towels on bathroom floor ! We instantly went to reception to say that the room wasn't ready. The receptionist was extremely apologetic and instantly offered us a free room upgrade. We ended up in a suite with four poster bed ! We were very pleased and impressed with the service as they could have asked us to wait for the first room to be serviced. We had a very good stay. The food in the bistro was excellent with prompt service.

Stayed here for one night in August and loved it. Many thx to other Trip advisors for the recommendation as this is how we sourced this hotel.

Stayed in a quirky room ( Room 21) which, as this old hotel is built actually on the side of the castle, which added charm to our stay. Well provided room ( tea /coffee/biscuits/ plus bottles of water), together with neat touches made a welcome change for us at the end of a hot day on the beacons.

The room could have had net curtains to make the room more private but otherwise we had an excellent and quiet nights rest.

The pretty and well maintained garden and terrace are great for afternoon drinks. The evening meal was fantastic ( I had the catch of the day - plaice - delicious!) and the breakfast ( full English or other) was the best I had during this holiday.

You pay a few more pounds for a stay here (we stayed at three hotels during our stay and this was the most expensive) but the difference in standard, food and experience were palpable. I'd certainly add at least one night here if you're travelling in the area.

Stayed here for one night on a business trip, check in was quick and efficient with a very polite and friendly girl on reception. The room was clean with a nice powerful shower in the bathroom. I had an evening meal and breakfast during my stay and both meals were very good indeed.
The only downside was my room was above the outside smoking area and was very noisy during the late evening. All the staff without exception were very friendly and polite and are a credit to the hotel

Had been here a few year ago and it was dyer but when a friend was getting married there we returned and stayed the night before, I was pleasantly surprised the whole hotel has had a makeover and been brought up to date, it still has a fabulous garden area with great views of Brecon town and surrounding area. The food was priced well and was really good.
The wedding was faultless the staff are very friendly, will defiantly be returning soon

This is our second visit to the hotel as we had enjoyed our previous visit very much. Yet again we weren't disappointed the staff are very friendly, the service excellent. Our room and ensuite were really bright and clean, the bed very comfortable, sparkling white bed linen and towels. Complimentary bottled water in the room along with shower caps, soap, sewing kits etc. etc. The food is superb. The view from the hotel and surrounding scenery is wonderful. We shall definitely be going there again.

Room Tip: A first floor room on the back of the hotel overlooking the Beacons would be quieter.
