There were 10 of us dotted around Brecon and all the others who stayed in town were hamstrung by the 4 hour maximum parking meters. We had ample parking and the landlady let one of our friends leave his car here.
The hotel was typical for an outdoor pursuits area, the room was clean and comfortable.
There was a storm and the umbrellas on hand were useful.
The breakfast was ok, choice of cereal, fruit and then a full english, ideal if you need the energy for a walk (which we did)
It's about 5 mins (max) walk to the centre, just cross the river bridge and you're there.
We're going to Brecon next year and I would stay here again.
The landlord (or manager) was helpful too with directions and pointing us in the right direction.
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- The Beacons was once a riverside farm and the 17th Century barns and cottages still remain. The front part of the building was added in the early 1700's and the house has changed little - apart from modern comforts and decor. The original spiral staircase, moulded ceilings and even the meat cellar (now a cosy bar) all add to the character and atmosphere of this lovely home. ... more less
