“The B&B that we will model ours after!”
Reviewed 22 May 2014

We're on a tour through the UK while at the same contemplating buying a B&B in Canada. Of all the B&Bs we stayed at -- Dorset, the Highlands, Edinburgh, Yorkshire Dales -- this was our favourite and the one that set the standard for us. Bronwyn and Steve are excellent hosts, knowledgeable and congenial and making one feel very much at home. The rooms are clean, modern and functional, and the views from the rooms are spectacular. Would not hesitate to recommend it to others.

What a great B&B! As others have said, Bronwyn and Steve were wonderful hosts, our room was spacious and comfortable, and the breakfasts were delicious (one small request - more fresh fruit please). Location is beyond superb - on the edge of a quiet village, within walking distance to both the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal towpath, and to the trailheads for Pen Y Fan, Fan Y Big, and others. We will definitely be back.

We have recently returned from a 3 night stay at this delightful B&B. Having stayed at numerous B&B's all over the country this was by far the best. Steve and Bronwyn were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were spotless, breakfast was marvellous and the views from the garden were outstanding. Steve was building a pergola affording guests the opportunity to cook their own food on a gas bar-b-cue and relax in the peaceful surroundings. We will definitely be back to visit next spring! A fabulous place to stay, clean and close to Brecon and surrounded by many beautiful walks. Browny and Steve are lovely and very welcoming, breakfast was delicious.
Wouldn't hesitate to stay again and highly recommend to everyone.
My partner and I stayed for two nights (same sex couple) and were warmly welcomed.

We have recently returned from a wonderful 8 night stay with Bronwyn and Steve. We have stayed in many B & B's but nothing comes close to this fantastic little gem. The room we had was room 1 which was twin aspect with a lovely view of the lake. The breakfasts were great and the bacon is to die for. The views from the breakfast room were of the Brecon Beacons and we were so lucky with the weather as it was fine and sunny all the time. Nothing is too much trouble for Steve and Bronwyn and the location could not be better. You are within easy reach of the Canal which is really pretty and there is so much to see in the Brecons this is the base you need to use to explore the area. Bronwyn recommended The Three Horseshoes at Groesffordd which is about a mile away. We had three meals there which I would also recommend. The area of the Brecons is great for birds. We have never seen such a variety before including Red Kites and Buzzards.

Room Tip: Room 1 is beside a country lane but the double glazing is so good you cannot hear the traffic only s...

This amazing B&B is situated outside a lovely village, Llanfrynach, and is close walking distance to the nearby canal(great for a casual stroll) and an amazing gastro pub(three horseshoes inn, well worth going to, check reviews on tripadvisor).

The owners, Steve and Bronwyn keep this place running in perfect condition and always immaculate and clean. The house is newly refurbished with fairly modern fittings and the rooms are very bright. While some may argue that newer builds may lack character, the stunning views make up for it and a clean B&B is always a safe bet.

The breakfast is the usual full breakfast, but with astonishing quality. The meats and eggs are locally sourced, and the thick cut bacon is to die for.

Our mattress was firm and comfortable (great for our poorly backs), and there were two sets of good pillows (one soft fluffy set and a firm set). The bathroom has a good shower with full range of temperatures and strong power to wash off the Beacon's mud.

Before arriving my partner prepared a collection of hiking routes in the region, but no amount of research can beat good local knowledge. Steve and Bronwyn advised us daily on great routes and attractions, which catered to our desires perfectly.

We would happily return to this B&B, and I'm eager to taste the Welsh thick cuts of bacon once again.
