“Disappointment”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 October 2011

The photos sadly do not give the true appearance. Very small room with hardly any space to walk around, and bed very small double which should be really a large single. Pillows non existent (thin and flat) and recommend taking your own. Bathroom equally very small and tight on space. On the positive side it was very clean. Good choice of breakfast however we both suffered with tummy trouble within 3 hours of leaving and had had nothing else to eat or drink. Hosts not very welcoming or friendly. Location good for Brecon town center. Parking difficult at back, better to leave car in car park.

Room Tip: Beware on main road

I can't recommend the Coach House highly enough. Everything about the place has the feel of quality and Chris and Rhys the owners really go the extra mile to ensure you have a great stay. I can honestly say that the breakfasts were some of the best I've had in a B&B, with lovely ingredients which were all sourced locally - the 'delux' Welsh rarebit is definitely wirth a try. The rooms were very clean an comfortable, and location is ideal being on a five minute walk from the centre of Brecon.

What can I say; nothing to fault this lovely hotel, which is ideally suited, 5 minutes walk from the centre of Brecon. Breakfast fantastic whether it be the full Welsh or smoked salmon, scrambled egg and lava bread. Bed very comfortable, everything very clean, and nice toiletries.
Most importantly arrived to a very warm welcome, already planning our next trip to The Coach House...

Room Tip: Book early to avoid disapointment!

Booked over the phone. No problem with the check-in time restrictions. Rooms small and elegant, very clean, and well stocked. Breakfasts were superb, and all advice given was useful and sent us to great places. Nearby car parking good. Some traffic noise with the windows open. Good value, would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Room Tip: Maybe the ones at the back have better view and less noise? Otherwise great.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Coach House. The standards set by the owners are high and the place is immaculate. A very warm welcome was received, and the owners' customer service was excellent, without being over-powering. The breakfast is a delight, with a very interesting selection of menu options. The Welsh rarebit was the best I've tasted! I would not hesitate to recommend this accomodation. The only points that I would raise (which would not put us off staying again incidentally, but would help to make it more perfect!) were firstly that the breakfast (9am latest) and check-out time (10am) were a little early for a weekend break. Also, we parked at the rear of the property upon arrival, and whilst there is a lovely back garden with a security (coded) gate, you are only given the code for this once you've checked in which means that if you unload your baggage upon arrival, you have to walk around a terrace of houses to get to the front of the property instead of going straight through the back gate. On the whole, these points are minor, and we were very glad that we chose The Coach House.

Lovely hotel in Brecon; a short stroll from centre (5 mins). The quality and high standard of this little hotel was fantanstic. The owners have furnished the hotel to a high standard, but with a warm and welcoming feel. We were greeted by the manager who was very welcoming and couldn't be more helpful. Offering us advice on best places to visit and recommendations for places to eat in town. He also went out of his way to provide literature on places to interest for our onward trip round Wales. Would stay again.
