Owner description: At just under 3,000 feet, this is the highest mountain in South Wales and the jewel in the crown that is the Brecon Beacons National Park.

It was our first time walking up any mountains, and we walked to Corn Du followed by Pen y Fan, it was a stunning walk with amazing views. It is hard to believe they are so close to Cardiff. It took us 2 hours 50 in total and we aren't the fittest of people. Highly Recommend this if you get the time to do it. There was also a nice burger van in the Car Park, But we took Sandwiches and enjoyed the view at the top.

Wonderful scenery and beautiful sunrises. A mixture of easy and steeper climbs. Hardly anyone else around even in August.

If in south wales this place is amust and is totally free and healthy .I walked to the top with my boy s a few months after moving to Cefn Coed. At the time they where 3 and 5 years old. This is the highest point in south wales and the views are breathtaking.

Everything that we had been promised. Easy to access, quiet and much overlooked by British Tourists ? Maybe we should keep it less well known. Cracking walk, up hill, great views, pure air and a real treasure of a day.

Pen-y-Fan is one of the best places in Wales to visit. It's a decent hike up to the top but it's well worth the effort. The scenery and surrounding landscape is amazing.
