Lovely bed and breakfast in a rural location. The owner Tony is lovely and really has been very helpful even booking our table in the local pub The Pheasant for us. The rooms are beautiful, spacious with a large en suite with a good shower (we stayed in room 4. Would I stay here again and recommend it to a friend. A resounding YES!!

If I am being ultra critical and only to give honest feedback I would make the following comments:-

I am not sure in a bed and breakfast establishment why breakfast is NOT included and the price is quoted as an extra. We had the full welsh breakfast at £6.95 each an the ONLY thing that let it down was the very average sausage. Everything else was excellent so why put sausages on the plate that were at best Tesco value? Very little meat in them.

The weekend we were there was bank holiday weekend so it was a little manic in the dining room at breakfast. The room itself is small when full and the very young staff we rather running around a bit like headless chickens. Tony was great though hardworking and on control.

As I said earlier I am being rather critical because overall the place is lovely and very friendly.

Thanks for the lovely stay and hopefully see you again

My daughter found this guest house on line, for our stay in Wales to see the sights, there was my mum, my uncle, my husband and myself. We were made more than welcome, It made our trip away to be in a place like a home from home. Could not fault this accommodation in anyway. Breakfast was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Had two rooms but each one was excellent.

This guest house is definitely my first choice when I am in the Swansea/Cardiff region. Anne and Tony run a great hostel and really make your stay a welcome one and absolutely comfortable one too. I am looking forward to my next trip to Bridgend already!

Excellent room and bathroom. Very easy to book and staff very efficient and friendly. The property is quiet and well appointed. A very comfortable bed, good wifi and plenty of parking. Great advice from owner to find a good restaurant nearby.
All in all an excellent stay and I shall definitely return

We were a group of three Australians visiting Wales for the first time. Bridge end was a good location to use as a base for exploring the area. Hazelwood house was like a home away from home. The rooms were spacious and very clean. Each room had a large bathroom with a good shower. The staff were very welcoming and helpful with directions and suggestions for places to eat. The breakfast was a choice of continental and full English breakfast which was served at a time to suit us in a lovely sunny dining room. We would recommend this place if you want somewhere which is convenient (1.3 km) out of town with good parking and within walking distance to a good hotel for and evening meal.

Stayed in this little gem of a guest house, as we were attending a family wedding nearby.
Staff were friendly and welcoming.
Rooms were very spacious, with tea/coffee making facilities, tv, a large en-suite bathroom, hairdryer and trouser press. The bed was king size and had a duvet, which was very cosy and the option of extra pillows (always an added bonus)
Breakfast was arranged at a time to suit us not them! As we were attending a wedding and were not certain how/when we would rise the next morning, we opted for a late breakfast, which was not a problem. We chose the "Full Welsh Breakfast" unsure how this differed from the traditional "Full English"? It was cooked well and there was plenty of bread to make toast with marmalades, jams, marmite, honey. Cereals and fresh juice was also available to help yourself to.
Tony then very kindly arranged to drive us to the nearby venue to collect our car, which had been left overnight - a true gent.
All in all a pleasant stay, however it is out "in the sticks" so a little unsure about any nearby evening entertainment.

Room Tip: We had room 2 which was very pleasant, overlooking the gardens. Did not have any disturbed sleep her...

I stayed for one night with a colleague from work to attend a meeting. I not usually a fan of guest houses but this was lovely. We received a warm welcome on arrival and found the rooms to be nice and warm and very clean. We wanted a meal in the evening and they were able to suggest somewhere to eat, and even gave us a lift to the pub!!
Lovely cooked breakfast in the morning. Has definitely changed my opinion of a guest house.
