Spacious parking available next to the visitors centre in the nature reserve. Stunning views across Swansea bay and Gower as well as across to the Devon coastline. This is a dog walkers' paradise and lovely as well for anyone else who likes an interesting long walk. There are many routes to go along, the lake walk is lovely but my favourite is along the golf course and down towards the beach. For those with a bit more stamina you can carry on into Porthcawl along the beach. The visitors' centre has limited refreshment facilities, coffee/tea from a machine and chocolate bars, ice-cream and a few other things. No sandwiches or anything cooked, so I would advise taking a picnic if you want to spend a few hours there or are taking your children to the beach. It is also worth reading the information about flora and fauna to be found, to see if you can spot some of the species. Stunning wild flowers are out at the moment.

I am shortly moving to Bridgend with my family so have been checking out the surrounding area and we love to walk. We found Kenfig reserve last week whilst on a visit, it was a lovely evening, the clocks had changed so we had some time to spend listening to the birds and enjoying a good walk. But what a surprise to see so much dog poo along the paths despite the signs asking people to clean up after their dogs. It was such a disappointment and I had to keep an eye on my granddaughter all the time in case she slipped up or walked in it. This site is very beautiful and there for all to enjoy so dog walkers please help keep it that way by cleaning up after your dogs.

Lovely place to take the kids for walking and the dogs and good place to exercise the horses.
Long walk to the beach but it tires the kids out and don't cost a lot.

We went in the winter but it was still good for walking and plenty of wildlife. There is a hide on the banks of the lake and from here we saw an uncommon bird, the Bittern. There is a place for toilets and drinks but the drinks are from a machine. Would be nice to be able to sit in a cafe but maybe not enough people to sustain.
