“wow what a lovely welcome”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 March 2014

Went on a Sunday lunchtime without having booked because it was our very first time.
Staff behind the bar were so welcoming and advised us to decide whether we were going to est as most tables were booked. So we decided to stay, and what a great decision that turned out to be.
Service and food were great. Lovely hot food and at a good price. 2 al a carte meals and a bottle of very nice Red wine came to £23.00.Will most certainly go again. Well done them, but check the soap in the Ladies more regularly please.

“best pub in town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 February 2014

I drink quite often in this pub and the beer is always of a very high standard although pricey. The faggots and peas are tasty and the chef Rob is always cheerful.Pity Sky is not installed which means I go to the Kings to watch soccer .

“Breakfasts are best in Town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 October 2013 via mobile

Called in for a casual breakfast, and once again it was spot on. Had the large breakfast and it most certainly was that. A coffee was included in the price (£4.95) as was toast (2 rounds). The breakfast consisted of 2 sausages, 2 bacon, 3 hash browns, black pudding a fried egg and either beans or tomatoes. Most certainly recommend this pub to all. It has a warm welcoming feeling and the staff are friendly and efficient too. I hear that their lunches and dinners are pretty good value and quality too.

The food in this pub is absolutely gorgeous, big portions and really tasty. The Sunday lunch is unbeatable. If you want to experience the Sunday lunch be sure to book as it does get full.
