Excellent location, well appointed and very clean apartment. Only downside is, as weather good so windows open, noise from street all night does disturb a bit. However so much to do around n about not a real problem. Cardiff could do with ensuring taxis available at station - had to wait 30 mins 9.30 pm on a Friday night!

Many thanks for your review, pleased that you found Quayside to be an excellent location.

Being right in the Heart of Cardiff Bay we are in a vibrant & busy location which does encounter some noise from all that's around. It's a trade off for being so close to the action.

If you stay again ask our team about Century Wharf, about 5 minutes walk but a quieter location for you.

Look forward to welcoming you on a return visit.

Our apartment was very modern, clean and spacious. We were very conveniently located for Mermaid Quay and and city centre and we walked to both areas quite easily. The only downside was that the beds were quite soft and in the morning I had pain down my back and neck. I also paid for a parking space but ended up parking in a free visitors parking space which was closer to the apartment for the whole weekend.

Room Tip: Try to get a river view apartment and duplex

Many thanks for your review.

We think you must have stayed with us in Century Wharf not Quayside as it's Century Wharf that offers parking spaces & is by the river.

Pleased you had an enjoyable stay, hope to see you next time you visit Cardiff.

Upon arrival in Cardiff we made our way to pick up the apartment keys, only to find the office closed despite asking for early check in due to flights. However for the inconvenience we were upgraded to a larger apartment. Spacious, clean and we'll maintained apartment with all mod cons.
I would suggest requesting a bay / theatre view as others we talked with had issues at the other side of the building.
Otherwise this is a great find in the city centre. After a bumpy start our stay was excellent. With local access to the theatre and stunning walks around the bay there is a whole host of things to keep you entertained.
We will definitely be using these again.

My wife and I stayed for 3 days, The room was very good nice big T.V.,fridge/freezer cooker not that we used it but it was all very clean. The location is perfect if your visiting Cardiff bay,the theatre is opposite and all the restaurant's are right on your door step.

What they don't say on the web site is the lack of parking. They do provide parking vouchers for a multi story a few minutes walk away but this is not free but is cheap at just £6 a day but is worth considering before you book. Cardiff city centre if just a £5 taxi ride away.

If i was going to the theatre again i would most definitely use the apartments again

We very carefully chose an apartment with A Space in the City to enjoy Mermaid Quaybut without too much noise. However, the company moved us at the last minute to an apartment that was supposed to be of equivalent standand but actually lacked the promised view of the bay and balcony. The aparments was dominated by the noise of lorries unloading outside and a bank of industrial extractor fans, all along the apartment, pumping out noise and smell constantly. It was noisy with the windows closed and we could not open them as the noise and smell would have been unbearable. The carpeted bathroom also smelled of cigarette smoke and damp. The oven was filthy and there was no dishwasher, washing up bowl or even plug. The glass covered dining table had mould showing through. While there was an allocated parking space, it was often already taken, and when we parked in it we got notes on our windscreen saying we should not. It was very difficult to sleep as the rooms that did not face the extractor fan faced the very bright lights of the inner courtyard, which shone through the inadequate blinds all night. This was supposed to be good standard! Obviously, what you book and what you get with this company do not match up - beware!

A Space in the City serviced apartments is not a dedicated serviced apartments facility. They are actual apartments in a private apartment block. Most of the units are owned by residents. The apartment we had was a roomy two bedroom with a full bath and an ensuite shower. The apartment was reasonably furnished and had all the necessary kitchen amenities and utensils.

The location is ideal, on Mermaid Quay. There are restaurants and shopping right on the quay, two grocery stores, as well as ocean side walking trails. The apartments are close to a number of Cardiff attractions, including the Millennium Centre and Doctor Who experience. Cardiff is relatively compact, so other attractions are easily accessible by transit or taxi.

Cons
We had a little problem with check-in. There is no office on site. The process is that you email them a day or two before you will arrive with an arrival time. I am not sure what this information is used for, because 20 minutes before you arrive you are to call so someone can meet you. We had the cabbie call to get directions and let them know we were coming, but no one showed up. Turned out we called the wrong number and the message wasn't passed on.

We arrived during a heat wave, and this apartment is not air conditioned. The apartment had nice big windows that opened wide and it cooled down outside every night. There were two issues with cooling down the apartment. First, the apartment faces out on a busy street and it was too noisy to sit with the windows wide open, and certainly too noisy to sleep, even with earplugs. Second, the blinds that were on the windows were such that you couldn't open the window when the blind was closed. Right outside the apartment was a bright streetlight!

The hot water is on an Eco timer that heats the water overnight. It was great for morning showers, but our teenagers prefer evening showers. There is a boost setting that will get you hot water in about an hour, but it was inconvenient and if the boost is used in the evening, we sometimes didn't have hot water in the morning.

All in all we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again if we are back in Cardiff.

I stayed 2 nights in the 3 bedroom apartment with my family, the location is super at the Cardiff bay and very close to the red dragon.
The apartment is spacious and fairly clean, small problem with hot water as it run out very quickly another issue is that all rooms had queen bed, if one room had 2 single beds it will be even better as my two teenaged boys refused to sleep in the same bed so one ended sleeping on the coutch.
The staff were very punctual when the met me at check in, even when the Internet password didn't work they came back immediately and fixed it.
I highly recommend staying at ocean building and with a space in the city.
