I've brought my family to this hotel several times not least because of the swimming pool that the kids love. This time round the room was great, as was breakfast. The large car park is easier to access than carparking facilities in the town centre. The Victory pub's food was overpriced with a much poorer service than one would expect when the cheapest meal is £9.95. As the 12.00 checkout time got closer of final half hour or so enjoying the room was spoilt - the cleaner knocked and asked what time we would be leaving, so I felt guity for putting someone out, then the phone rang but with no=one on the line when we picked up: the cleaner again to check whether she could clean the room? But we'll come back: my youngest cried as we were packing distressed at having to leave after a special 2 nights.

Room Tip: Rooms in the extension (the one built 2005) seem quieter...

Stayed Here for one night. Thank goodness it was not a longer stay.
Negatives:
Bar and lobby area was dirty. Crisps, old newspapers and food remains left all over the place. Nowhere quiet to sit whilst waiting for a room to be prepared. I arrived at 13:15 had to wait 45 mins for a room.
View from room on 1st floor out over flat roof. Bare wires hanging from ceiling in bathroom
But worst of all I could here every single word, giggle, scream, drunken babble from sourounding rooms. Got back to the hotel at midnight after a dinner with family. Noise continued to gone 3am!
Positives
Staff were polite and friendly.

Nice hotel, very cool room, comfy bed, very nice facilities, very POOR soundproofing!! My room was located above the entertainment hall, but it was as loud as if I was in it!! It appears that all the money has been spent on fittings, but basics like soundproofing have been over looked! Very disappointed as all else was good, even the food was ok, but as I was travelling for business and had an early start then it really wasn't the place for me, that coupled with a packed car park will prevent me from returning.

Room Tip: Ask for a room well away from the entertainment!!!

First impressions were very good. Apart from the swimming pool smell in the lobby, everything seemed clean and tidy, and there was a good 'vibe' about the place. The staff were friendly, and helpful. My wife asked to book a manicure and pedicure, and managed to get in quite quickly. All seemed OK.
Then we went to our room. There was dust on every hanger, on the mouldings on the furniture, and the bathroom was frankly appalling. There was A LOT of hair in the plug hole, and the mastic was very mouldy in places, and was several layers thick (and untidily done). The rubber on the shower screen looked as if it had never been cleaned, and there was staining in the toilet, and dead insects laying in the light box above the sink area.
The walls are paper thin. We could clearly hear the couple in the room next door, but the absolute pinnacle of our stay was the 'tribute' night the hotel puts on every Friday. Loud, thumping music until 1 a.m., and lots of drunk people about. We phoned down twice to complain, and finally got moved to another room away from the music, but next to the boiler room. This fired up every 20 mins. or so, and kept us awake all night, so probably made things worse.
The slight saving grace for the hotel, is that the breakfast wasn't too bad (although steep at nearly £10), The bar area is nice (but pricey), and they managed to make my friend's wedding reception there a massive success.
I would never go back though.

Room Tip: There didn't seem to be any.

Helpful staff, clean modern rooms and good on-site facilities. A reliable village quality hotel. Despite being located next to a bussy roundabout, noise is not an issue even overlooking the road.

Stayed here a couple of times on overnight business trips. Always seems to be plenty of (inclusive) parking. The rooms are standard and modern with wifi access and a comfortable bed for a good nights sleep. Bathrooms could do with updating. Service in the bar is friendly, yet unremarkable elsewhere. I would stay again, as convenient for my needs.

OK, so the rooms are ok, walls a bit thin though, and the gym/pool is fantastic but...

Restaurant was the most overpriced I think I've been in ever. Food was frankly rubbish. £13 for an average burger, ordinary fries and an old bland salad. £21 for a very average steak with identical trimmings to the burger.

Breakfast just as bad.

The bar was busy - very expensive though.

Staff seemed to be doing their best but it wasn't very good. Planning by them for two small conferences happening at the same time was woeful.

Room Tip: south side quieter - end of corridor gives less chance of having bad snorers on each side. (walls th...
