“Great Hotel in Cardiff Centre”
Reviewed 5 October 2012

We stayed in a business class room on the top floor and enjoyed superb views over the city, Millenium Stadium and Cardiff Castle. The hotel is in an ideal location just a few minutes walk from central train station and bus terminus. Staff throughout the hotel are warm, friendly and very professional. Breakfast in the restaurant is worth every penny. Huge selection and the hot food is actually hot. A great place to stay.

Room Tip: Business Class rooms are the way to go.

Thank you very much for taking the time to send us feedback. To receive five stars in every category is fantastic and there are a lot of reviewers that agree with you. Cardiff is one of those special places everyone should visit. So, whether you are tracking down Doctor Who, roaring on a rugby team or immersing yourself in Cardiff’s rich architecture and culture – we offer the ideal city centre sanctuary.

Thanks once again for such wonderful comments. Our staff love hearing how well we are doing.

Kind regards,
Jens

We were in cardiff for a weekend and we booked this hotel because we thought it was a good one even if the price seemed too low for a double considering that is a 4 stars hotel!!
The result? Well we had a business class room with a good breakfast included at the 21st floor!
There was kettle for tea or coffee plus a nespresso coffee machine. We also got free drink at the bar as we arrived!!
The hotel was just in the centre which was great. We just didn't get chance to park in the hotel parking as it was full but we had a parking right in front of the hotel so it wasn't a big deal.
Overall fantastic experience in Cardiff.

Booked the junior suite as a suprise for my wife as it was our wedding anniversary. When we arrived we were allowed into the room 5 hours early, also we were given tokens to get free drinks from the bar in the hotel. Thought the staff were very polite and extremely helpful when we needed them. Our room was on the 20th floor and had a great view overlooking the city. The room was huge and very nicely done out, 2 flat screen tele's, very nice bathroom, everything was clean and tidy. All in all it made the day even more special.

Room Tip: The suite is well worth the extra money

Three of us stayed here for one night on Saturday 29th September in a suite on the 21st floor and the view accross Cardiff was amazing. You can take a lift to the top and still look out over the city and bay but the suite had floor to ceiling glass so we could enjoy the view from the comfort of our own room. Breakfast was amazing with everything you could think of including full cooked breakfast, fruit, salmon, pastries and cereals and the drinks in the bar were reasonably priced. The location was excellent, four minutes from Cardiff Central train station and right in the centre next to all the shops and bars and only 20 minutes walk to Cardiff Bay. Recommend a visit to Mermaid Quay and also the Castle. Room was excellent and gym looked good although didn't use. Would definately return for business or leisure. V quiet at night and v clean.

I’m so pleased you and your friends enjoyed staying with us and appreciated our stunning views and central location. Our business guests really value our free Wi-Fi.

If our breakfast was such a hit, you simply must try our Filini restaurant for dinner. It serves classic Italian dishes with a modern twist. We’ll soon be offering our guests Prosecco on tap as well, which we’re really excited about.

Kind regards,
Jens

Good location in the town centre. The overall impression you get from the staff is that they are somehow superior to you. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable but has the most terrible lighting imaginable. Ok if you wanted a dimly lit seduction chamber I suppose, but I had to go into the bathroom to read anything as it was the only bright light!
Breakfast was Ok but at almost £15 it needs to be.
A parting thought, who designed the car park? It is small and the spaces are a complete joke as you have to park passenger door to passenger door to stand any chance of actually getting out of the car!

It really surprises me to hear your comments about our staff, they are usually so friendly and go out of their way to help.

We have various lighting options in our rooms including desk lamps for reading. Our concierge would be happy to bring in additional lighting if required.

We have a limited area for parking spaces and we attempt to mange this space as efficiently as possible. There are many other carparks nearby such as the John Lewis carpark, perhaps you might like to try parking there next time. We are also hoping to introduce a drop off point outside our hotel soon.

I’m glad you appreciated your room and our central location, I just hope you’ll give us another chance to show you how much we value our guests.

Kind regards,
Jens

we were going to the Motorpoint Arena (CIA of old) and its just round the corner not to be confused with the Park Inn Raddisson which is opposite. We didnt have breakfast (but there is plenty of choice around ) it was a cheapo on late rooms and was perfect. I would say better than the average great smellies huge bed nice room. I would stay again.

stayed here last w/e with my friends for 1 night, hotel on whole was appalling, unwelcoming, unfriendly, unhelpfull and uninterested is a good sum up of the staff who dont seem concearned with customer care in the slightest! we were "led" to beleive we were getting a suite when we booked but infact got a small room with 2 single beds & a COT (as described by duty manager) which infact was a camp bed which i had to sleep in, if we had not of payed for this hotel up front, i would of walked out, i am disgusted that we payed £135 & only got 2 beds!! We had booked to eat in the filini restaurant but cancelled as didnt want to give the hotel anymore business! The breakfast was dismal & uninspiring & the restaurant was like a sauna, very uncomfortable, couldnt wait to leave! On checking out, i had to suggest to the manager, sarah that she may wish to compensate us as a gesture of goodwill for the car parking £15 which surprisingly she did! The ONLY thing this dump of a hotel has going for it is its location, ideal for shopping & bars, restaurants if u dont care where u sleep . . . good luck!!!

Room Tip: do not book!
