My girlfriend and I were in Cardiff for a friends leaving party and wanted a base for a night close to town. The Radisson fitted the bill being situated within 200 metres or so from the town centre. Upon arrival we were puzzled to find no parking on site, I parked outside (using the park anywhere lights!) and asked at reception, to be told that as we had booked a standard room parking was not included but that we could upgrade to an executive room or suite which would include on site parking. At £45 for the night this upgrade was well worth the money, it also included breakfast, pay channels on the TV and a morning newspaper.

The best thing about the upgrade was that it also meant a junior suite on the 20th floor with panoramic views across Cardiff. The room was lovely, a nice seating area, espresso machine, bathroom with his and hers basins, a couple of flat panel TVs and a bewildering array of lighting options to suit everyone. There was also free wireless internet connection.

Breakfast in the morning was great, a self service buffet with plenty of choice, hot Welsh breakfast (sausages, bacon, eggs etc), cold meats and salads, fresh fruit, toasts, breads and croissants, cereals, fruit juices, etc etc, a fine way to start a day.

All staff we encountered were very efficient, professional and most of all friendly and the hotel really did deliver. At £130 GBP for a suite in the middle of Cardiff it is very good value too.

We stayed a couple of nights at the Radisson and were were very impressed with the quality. This 20 storey hotel is on the edge of cardiff city centre, great for going out at night in the city and is also within easy walking distance of everything Cardiff Bay has to offer.

The check in was very smooth, even arriving at the hotel at 11am we were able to check in straight away. Our room was on the 16th floor, room 09. It was clean and fairly well maintained. The only two minor blights in the room was the usual bath plug not working and cup rings on the soft leather surfaces of the dressers and tables. This was just design winning over practicality.

We flew in so didnt have to worry about the lack of parking at the hotel. We also never tried the food in the hotel so couldn't comment. The hotel also advertises free wifi but we never used this.

The prices in the bar were quite high so we tended to drink out.

Overall the hotel was excellent value for money and I would recommend the hotel to people wanting a good clean hotel fairly central in Cardiff.

We stayed here for one night in January. The location is excellent, right opposite the rear of the new John Lewis store and the new cinema. Bars & restuarants in the Brewery Quarter are also nearby. We managed to get a special deal in a kingsize room with city view includng breakfast. The rate also included parking. Room was great, on the top floor so fantastic views. Breakfast was good and the staff were helpful & pleasent. Will definately stay agin.
